24.01.2022 Office of the Children's Commissioner NT visited LACS.

24.01.2022 Werte, Ltyentye Apurte! We go back to school on the following dates: STAFF - Monday 1st February 2021 and STUDENTS - Monday 8th February 2021. Hope you all had a great holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone soon .

24.01.2022 CHRISTMAS HAMPERS UPDATE: After much orgnisation and many trips to town and back, our Christmas Hampers are finally ready. Many thanks to school staff and friends of the school for helping us to pick up stock in recent weeks. Also thanks to Aaron and other Woolworths Alice Springs staff for multiple phone conversations and emails about ordering and collection of stock, and for donating the hamper bags themselves. Finally, thanks to school staff for packing the hampers. AND... last, but not least, a huge THANK YOU to all the people who donated to and shared our Go Fund Me. Your generosity meant not only that our hampers could happen but we've also been able to upgrade the quality / brand of some items requested by local staff. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! ZS :-)

24.01.2022 Werte, Ltyentye Apurte families. Check out this notice for Tuesday! :-)

20.01.2022 We created a Go Fund Me to raise money for the purchase of items for our Christmas Hampers. It raised $3100 in five days! As we have achieved our goal, donations have now closed. We are extremely grateful for and appreciative of everyone's generosity. The school and wider community certainly appreciate our Christmas Hampers tradition. THANK YOU, everyone! :-)

20.01.2022 Christmas Message from Bishop Charles Gauci (Bishop of Darwin), friend and supporter of Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School and the beautiful community it serves. :-)

11.01.2022 Werte, Ltyentye Apurte families! Don't forget that school starts tomorrow (Monday 19th October) for ALL students and staff. We hope you had a great holiday and feel refreshed and ready for the final term (4) of 2020. Kele! JC :-)

11.01.2022 Earlier this week we were treated to a wonderful Celebration Assembly by Preschool and teacher Marnie. Assemblies begin with a prayer and Acknowledgment of Country. Preschool students know and love... "Yes, Jesus Loves Me." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN9SSzoFLeA

09.01.2022 Werte, Ltyentye Apurte families! The school invites you to BETHLEHEM ROAD on Tuesday 15th December (tomorrow). We have to be COVID-Safe. Come in through main gate. Two queues outside with sign-in books. We must keep 1.5 metres apart and use hand sanitizer. Look here - posters. :-)

02.01.2022 Since 2015, LACS has been working with Keep Australia Beautiful - NT and MacDonnell Regional Council to make Santa Teresa a Tidy Town. We’ve improved signage around the community, taught our students about environmental issues and recycling, run Community Working Bees every term, introduced the Rubbish Rangers trophy to keep the school tidy, produced a community education booklet about Tidy Towns, worked alongside AAAC on beautification projects (recycled tyre art) and entere...d into MRC's Get Grubby Program. Now, Santa Teresa is winning awards it hasn’t won in nearly 30 years! In 2016, we came second in the NT Tidy Towns competition. In 2016 and 17 we won the TTT Best School Award. In 2017 we won the TTT Community Participation Award and our Deputy Principal won the TTT Community Citizen of the Year Award (for the 2nd year in a row). In 2018, we won the TTT Best School Award (3rd year in a row); the TTT Community Participation Award (2nd year in a row) and our DP won the TTT Community Citizen of the Year Award (3rd year in a row). To our great delight, we then became the NT Tidy Town of 2018! But it didn't stop there... Because we won the NT competition, we were entered into the National Awards, which have now evolved to specify SUSTAINABLE community development (so it's not just about being 'tidy' anymore). On Friday 5th April 2019, in Smithton, Tasmania (the national winner in 2018) Santa Teresa was represented by key figures from MacDonnell Regional Council, LACS and AAAC. We were also joined by Kate, Dirtgirl and Scrapboy from ABC TV. WE WON four out of the nine national categories, including: Dame Phyllis Frost Litter Prevention + Young Legends + Environmental Communication and Engagement + Community Health, Wellbeing and Interest. Santa Teresa was also highly commended for Resource Recovery and Waste Management. FINALLY, and to our amazement, we WON Keep Australia Beautiful: Sustainable Community - Tidy Town of 2019 ! The eyes of Australia are now on Santa Teresa, its stakeholders and the school. Truly exciting times that should hopefully benefit every branch of community in Santa Teresa.

02.01.2022 So what's been happening at LACS in Term 4? We recently held a footy day to coincide with the AFL Grand Final; we updated our school images using a drone; further computer game addiction information sessions were held; students celebrated NAIDOC Week... and there's so much more to come, so STAY TUNED! :-)
