25.01.2022 **Please note in this post I talk about some of my daughters heart experiences in ICU and can be distressing to read.** Do you know what these beads are? These beads are to show all the procedures and operations that my little girl has gone through. This is only some of them, and many more familys have a tonne more. ... During our biggest stay in hospital Harper went through three operations. Two on bypass. One operation they didnt have time to take her to the operating theatre and had to open her up on her hospital bed. She had two lots of a type of pneumonia and her heart wasnt healing, its just wouldnt go into rhythm and beat by itself. She has scars and battle wounds all over her body which is hard to see for any parent but to me now and to my girl these show how strong and resilient she is. She will wear them like a badge of honour, to know she can conquer the world. The first time they extubated her, she couldnt handle it and got extremely rocky to the point of having to put her breathing tube back in so her body could have a break. She was in ICU for 3 weeks. Seeing your child like this is to say the worst thing I have ever seen. Your child who is usually active and smiling laying there just motionless. A million tubes and machines keeping her alive and stable. I came to the realisation that I may not come home with my girl. I just couldnt stop crying that this was a possibility. I remember just staring at the monitors just wishing for her heart to just heal and for it to beat. I was staring so hard and so long at the monitors. Wishing for it to just change. I remember the exact moment her heart rhythm changed. In that moment I knew it wasnt her time. We were so lucky and she pulled through. I cannot even think about it if it went the other way and for those that it has i send my love. This is the start of our journey as she has recovery and surgeries to come but I want you to think about all the families that are going through this now. The mothers whos baby goes straight into surgery from birth, trying to pump milk in ICU, parents whos first moment of seeing their newborn baby is in ICU **continued in comments**
24.01.2022 We are heading for a little getaway tomorrow. Its our first time away as a family. I think it is so important to make memories. I also love exploring the state we are in. 23.01.2022 Does anyone elses treats just disappear? I had a chocolate mousse I was saving went back to the fridge after the kids were asleep and it was gone!!! It wasnt even the kids it was the husband. I have now learnt now I have kids that there is no saving treats if you want them yourself you have to devour them right then and there . ... Dont even get me started anytime I have breakfast, lunch or dinner the kids just eat straight of my plate and by the time I actually get to eat I prob get half of it. Ive started to just say ohhh it spicy you wont like this! But how do I get the husband to stop!! Whats your guilty food pleasure and how do you keep it to yourself? 23.01.2022 So yesterday was the first day, I guess I really realised my children ganging up together to be cheeky. . I love they are creating a little bond but what have I got myself into!!! If they are anything like me Im in for a wild ride. What is something your kids have done to make you facepalm your forehead and just laugh?... I once caught my son painting the walls, floors and anything his hands touched with blue poster paint while I was in the shower and my husband was watching him.... Featured- Medium Basket.

15.01.2022 CREEPER ALERT My 3 year old has consistently for the last few days woken up at 12am, crept into our room and just started at me while Im sleeping. (Never my husband, mind you!! Whats with that? always mum!!) One night I was felt a presence. Didnt realise it was him and just screamed, shaking my arms around ready to fight an intruder. I was going full Bruce lee! Each nickname means something to me and represents a time in my life, a memory that I will cherish forever. Not everyone likes to use nicknames with their children but I love it. I find it hilarious how I dont actually call my kids their actual names and they still respond. Its funny how that happens. Do you have nicknames in your family or not a fan? They were the ones that inspired me to get creative and give it a go. Now every time I make an order my son asks if it is for him. He gets sad when I say no. How many baskets does this kid want!!.... 04.01.2022 Sometimes I really wonder what goes through my kids heads. Today my son though it was a good idea to take his scooter up the slide and try ride it down. I caught him before this happened but he would have done it for sure!! Yesterday I found a whole set of legos hidden under the covers of my bed. So when I went to get in at night I had an awesome surprise to lay on.... Is this just boys or do girls do this too?? Am I going to have two dare devil kids on my hands . Where have your kids hidden toys or what is the craziest thing your kids have tried to do? Please tell me Im not the only one that can never take my eyes off them!!! 01.01.2022 I brought my first set of gumboots the other day. Im loving being able to stomp around in muddy puddles, in the vege garden and have adventures without my flats on!! Before kids I was never one to step into the garden but now all I want to do is make muddy memories. What is something that your kids have changed in you? What adventures have you been up to?... 01.01.2022 I was never one to keep memories. Once I had kids that all changed. I have kept all their birth items, all their bday cards and I even have a filing cabinet full of pictures. It has gotten to the point that I have to pull a Bandit (blueys dad) and recycle them.... What is the sweetest thing you have kept or been given by your children?
