We’re simply ready to just skip the rest of the year and head over to 2021 now Unfortunately there is no time capsule so in the meantime, we’re happily daydreaming about what mundane things we will get ourselves into! Additionally we’ve come up with an informative piece about toothpastes for children. You’ve asked. We’ve delivered! Why is choosing a good toothpaste so important? Because decay can spread rapidly. To give perspecti...ve, a small incipient lesion on a baby tooth can balloon out and encompass half the tooth in a matter of 12 months Many of the issues arising with lockdown is that our routine dental checks are being postponed. Children who are also living with a complex medical condition are at even higher elevated risk to dental decay. There are many factors about 2020 we cannot control, but there are things we can do at home to minimise the risk of dental decay and infection. Choose a fluoride containing toothpaste. Always. No matter what age. Take it from the experts we see what happens when a child does not get the fluoride he / she needs. Young children who do swallow their toothpaste can still use a fluoride toothpaste but just make sure it is age appropriate. The manufacturer puts the possibility of swallowing into account. Thanks to the internet there is a huge rise in natural products but all products are not natural to an extent. A fluoride-free toothpaste for a developing child can be harmful. Trust us we’ve had these conversations with a lot of parents and it is so heart breaking to put your child through dental treatment or a general anaesthetic. So what toothpaste is a good toothpaste? Well we are unbiased to brands but we are happy to comment and check if the toothpaste your child is using is fine. @colgate @oralb are usually appropriate choices.
