24.01.2022 Last week, Lucerne Australia held an Information Session for members and industry at Keith. With COVID-19 affecting the way we all work and live, interstate members and speakers also connected in on-line to the sessions from NSW, Victoria and Tasmania via the "Zoom" meeting platform. Attendees had the opportunity to hear the latest results from the LA Variety Trial, an update on insecticide resistance in RLEM and management options plus an overview of a new lucerne seed wasp project. The morning concluded with the release of LA's new five-year Strategic Plan. A big thankyou to our terrific group of engaging and informative speakers and to everyone for their patience as LA entered the era of online meetings. 23.01.2022 Herbage measurements will start again next week at Lucerne Australia's Variety Trial at Keith following winter cleaning in June. The trial "Assess optimum plants stress levels for seed production" is entering it's third year of production evaluating herbage and seed yield of 29 commercial and per-commercial lucerne varieties supplied by Alforex Seeds, Barenbrug Australia, Naracoorte Seeds, PGG Wrightson Seeds, Pasture Genetics, S & W Seed Company Australia, Seed Force and Upper Murray Seeds alongside the benchmark public varieties Siriver and Aurora under modified irrigation practices. Although there has been a run of cold frosty mornings this week , growth will kick off quickly as we head into spring. #AgriFuturesAustralia

16.01.2022 Bridget Doyle, Matt Reeves, Jessamy Bennet and all the team from Kalyx were out braving the cool and windy conditions today to take another cut from the seed and herbage plots in the LA Variety trial. The trial area is looking terrific as it heads towards lock-up in the third season evaluating herbage and seed yield of 29 commercial and pre-commercial lucerne varieties alongside the benchmark public varieties Siriver and Aurora under modified irrigation practices#agrifutures
