15.01.2022 The Season is well underway now as we enter week 3. A highlight for the club this year so fay has been the mighty Tiny Tots who are just learning the fun of football. Under the guiding hand of BJ Grant, the tiny tots have now had two training sessions. The turnout has been great, and we continue to grow in numbers each week!... All the kids are having great fun with all the drills and games they play, with their favourites being: Fish tank. Where all the players have a ball in the box (fish tank) and the shark (coach) chases the fish and tries to get the ball. Kick the coach. Where all the players chase the coach and try to kick the ball at the coach. Whats the time Mr Wolf. Traffic lights. Go on green and stop on red. Then race back to the start. Our main focus for kids this young is to get as much time on the ball as possible. For more details of how to be involved, visit www.lucsoccer.com

12.01.2022 "THANKS COACH" Two small words that mean a lot. It's reward for the person who's usually there 1/2 hour before training, the person who's done the coaching cou...rses, the person who spends hours trawling the internet for fun drills. The person who feels gutted for the goalie who has let the ball through their legs. The person who has sleepless nights on a Friday before a big game. Take the extra 30 seconds this week to thank the coach, it's a small thing that goes a long way. And while you're at it, thank the manager too. They are often the unsung heroes of the team. They're the ones that make sure the jerseys make it to the game, that someone will bring the fruit for half time. And often they have worked the phones and emails on Friday to make sure we have a team on the field. Tag a coach or manager here & thank them publicly! For the love of the game.

06.01.2022 "One of my friends asked "Why do you pay so much money for your kids to do all their sports? Well I have a confession to make; I don't pay for my kids to to do sports. Personally, I couldn't care less about what sport they do. So, if I am not paying for sports what am I paying for? - I pay for those moments when my kids become so tired they want to quit but don't.... - I pay for those days when my kids come home from school and are "too tired" to go to their training but they go anyway. - I pay for my kids to learn to be disciplined, focused and dedicated. - I pay for my kids to learn to take care of their body and equipment. - I pay for my kids to learn to work with others and to be good team mates, gracious in defeat and humble in success. - I pay for my kids to learn to deal with disappointment, when they don't get that placing or title they'd hoped for, but still they go back week after week giving it their best shot. - I pay for my kids to learn to make and accomplish goals. - I pay for my kids to respect, not only themselves, but other riders, officials and coaches. - I pay for my kids to learn that it takes hours and hours, years and years of hard work and practice to create a champion and that success does not happen overnight. - I pay for my kids to be proud of small achievements, and to work towards long term goals. - I pay for the opportunity my kids have and will have to make life-long friendships, create lifelong memories, to be as proud of their achievements as I am. - I pay so that my kids can be out on the field instead of in front of a screen... ...I could go on but, to be short, I don't pay for sports; I pay for the opportunities that sports provides my kids with to develop attributes that will serve them well throughout their lives and give them the opportunity to bless the lives of others. From what I have seen so far I think it is a great investment!"

06.01.2022 The committee couldnt pass up the opportunity to take a photo in front of the photo wall. Everyone else got to so why not us. We did miss a few members though due to them helping out at some of the away games yesterday. All in all we had a great day celebrating all our teams and thanking you for being part of our club and community.
