25.01.2022 Van Eyk Nifro and Deluxe at the Victorian Dressage State Championship Festival Van Eyk Deluxe had his very first outing in the HRCAV at the DF. Ridden by Lucy T...horman, Deluxe is 4 years old and is being prepared for sale. We wanted to see how he was out at a competition and well he was perfect! He took the competition in his stride and came home with the Championship Ribbon. Good one Lucy! Van Eyk Nifro and Ashleigh Howard took on the 4 Year old field After a quiet and well behaved first round, Nifro made it to the final. Ashleigh had him relaxed and ready to strut his stuff. The warm up was super but he got into the ring and just wasnt settled. While there were flashes of brilliance it wasnt his best, so our super Vet/Dentist Poss checked Nifro out on Monday and sure enough his caps were causing him trouble and digging into his cheek. No wonder he was out of sorts!

24.01.2022 A great weekend at lakes and craters 3DE. The grounds looked fantastic and what a great event this was. Eli added just 1.2 times penalities on to his dressage ...score to place 6th in the prelim section. Was a tough course for him with the big hills but he dug hard for me and jumped super!!!!! Bollie owned by Mel Tardio was great for her first intro event. Still a lot to learn but she really does love the xc and will be super bold. Duke owned by VEH performed a great dressage test. Rode super out on the pre nov xc course and probably gave me the best ride yet. But unfortunately wasnt our day in the SJ with two rails down dropping us below the placings. But still so happy with him. A massive thanks to Bessie Dimery, Melanie Tardio, Hannah and Sam McLean for your help and super company. Justine Greer for her super dressage skills and coaching. 24.01.2022 Geelong Horse trials results. Bossa Nova LD stepped up to pre nov this weekend. Scoring a 76% dressage, 2 rails sj but felt like a good round, highlight being clear xc and under time. Geelong horse trials 2016 was where Eli and I had our first intro start and 2017 we competed in our first pre nov where we placed 3rd in a big section of riders. Jazdan Duke VEH owned by Van Eyk Horses completed the 1* course with the highlight being a clear sj which was quite a testing course.... He felt terrific xc and we have come away with some things to work on for the next competition. Scarlett owned by Catherine Smith placed 10th in the intro class. Such a cruisey mare just need to work on the sj and she will be flying. Thanks to the organisers and the committee of Geelong horse trials for running a fantastic event. 23.01.2022 Winner! Bobby Dazzler VEH and superstar rider Lucy Thorman braved the elements for a win at Camperdown HT. Bobby was bred and is owned by VEH. Bobby is by supe...r sire Jazz out of our wonderful foundation thoroughbred mare Classique (Sally). Jazdan Duke VEH came in 3rd overall in the 1 star. We now have the qualifying points for M3DE! Lucy has trained Duke from a breaker, he was bred by Jazdan and is by Don Duchovny out of a thoroughbred Falak mare. A big thank-you to Chris Pearce from CP Showjumping. 23.01.2022 Tonimbuk int horse trials. Eli did a beautiful dressage test to score 70% placing us in 8th place after dressage. Then sj one of his best rounds yet with no rails moving us up to 4th. But then unfortunately after a great start in the xc rider parted company causing elimination. Maybe next event we will get all three phases right. ... Next weekend off. Then off to Werribee for djwts where Eli will be competing in the 6yo eventing class. Thanks to Justine Greer and mark Nicholls for there help at home. 21.01.2022 MELB 3DE WRITE UP A fantastic experience at melb 3DE. I couldn't have asked any more from my partner duke. He tried his heart out. A calm relaxed consistent test. ... Bold and switched on around the xc course , a green mishap at the lake left me with 20 penalties but I am no way unhappy with the feel he gave me. I was looking forward to riding the beautifully built sj course as duke has been jumping better and better but unfortunately being that bit tired led to few too many rails. Again, not unhappy with him at all, being his first 3DE at this level and also mine it took its toll. I have come away with so much more experience, and more confidence in this horse. A lot more to learn but my god I can't wait to keep growing and progressing through the levels. Bobby Dazzler VEH was a superstar in the Young Event horse placing 4th in the 6yo. Love this horses personality and character. So much to offer and I'm sure we will build an even better partnership the more we do and learn together. A huge thanks to the organisers, the committee and the sponsors of this fantastic event. It ran so smoothly and I can't wait for next year. 16.01.2022 A super fun chilled weekend at candlebark horse trials. Van Eyks Bobby Dazzler competed in the prelim section. Adding one rail to his dressage score of 73%. We came home with a lovely 3rd ribbon and a bag of feed. Just getting better and better every time. I also rode Mel Mackenzies OTT Rex in his first intro class. Placing 4th overall and winning highest place OTT in this section. Very happy also with his horse. Well done to the organisers for putting on such a great ev...ent and making it different this year. The course looked and rode fantastic. Now to get ready for the big trip up to Goulburn this weekend.

15.01.2022 DJWTS 2017 completed. Bossa Nova LD "Eli" was his normal laid back super rideable self. Some really nice comments from the guest judge in the 6/7yo young event horse class. They loved his jump and how well he travelled for a big horse. Some more things to work on but overall Im super happy with him. ... Thanks to Olivia Scott for her help down there. 08.01.2022 Another rug for this superstar!!!!! This weekend we went out to Colac horse trials for our second prelim start. So good to be out again after so many events being cancellled. 78% dressage put us in first. Then xc clear and under time and one unlucky rail kept us our first place. Very happy with how he coped with the very wet conditions. Thanks to the sponsors of the event and to Colac pony club for putting on a fantastic fun event. 07.01.2022 Spring Horse Trials. A successful weekend competing. Duke performed nearly to his best adding a rail to his dressage score but coming away with a win in the 1* class. Bobbys first comp back since may and was super rideable and ate the xc up in the prelim section. Finishing 11th. Zip and I not being together long but feel like its coming together having a confident run in the pre nov to finish 14th. ... 06.01.2022 A very belated update for the ballarat hickstead. Eli competed in his first pre nov event. With a few mistakes from rider we didnt finish where I would have liked to have finished but Eli stepped up and feels braver and braver every event we do. I rode Catherine Smiths "Scarlett" in her first event. Could not have asked anymore of this mare. She shone and placed third in the eva80 section. And also Rachel Chambers Pablo won the dressage 1.1 and 1.3 for his first dressage... competition. Good to be back out there and very much looking h forward to Geelong Ht next weekend. 05.01.2022 Sat 15th took us to Werribee where Eli and I competed in our first Ea dressage comp. I couldnt of asked anymore of him. He tried his heart out. Scoring a 65% and 68% in the novice section in a tough field giving us a sixth place in the 2.2. He has improved hugely. Thanks to Justine Greer for your coaching and help with this tricky horse. Sun 16th we then went to oaklands horse trials with both Eli and Duke. Duke owned by VEH performed the goods and finished on his dressag...e score placing us 3rd. Eli was in first after dressage but with one green moment on xc with a little steering issue which left us with 20 penalties but I was so happy with how he dealt with such a big and scary course. He came home with a lovely pink 6th ribbon. What a fantastic weekend. Thanks to Isabelle Cowley for your help yesterday.
