17.01.2022 In the depths of isolation, the band has been busy. Hutchman is recording birdsong in his hometown, Hydey has become an apocalypse prepper, and Lucy has been learning to play the guitar. It's been a difficult time, and with this new skill (VERY new: please be nice about the barre chords), we wanted to write a song that would speak to this important moment in history and its impact on us all. As an ode to our Local 'The Old Canberra Inn' (better known as the OCI) we present: Missing You. Stay safe everyone, and we hope to be back at the pub in no time.
17.01.2022 How good are campfire jams? What's your go-to campfire tune? Hit me with your top singalongs!

06.01.2022 We don't need to tell you that 2020 hasn't worked out how we hoped it would. The Derby Widows had grand plans full of gigs, festivals, and studio sessions but like many we've had to adjust to a new reality. Live In Ya Lounge has been a beacon for Canberra's musicians, and an absolute treat for music lovers. For months now, they've been putting on top-notch, quality gigs, for free, at their own expense. This petition hopes to see some funding from the ACT government to help t...hese legends continue doing what they love. Please consider signing, and if you need a reminder of how amazing they are you can catch more shows this weekend AND check out past gigs at their website: including ours! https://liveinyalounge.com/project/19_June_2020/
06.01.2022 We're not kidding folks! As of this morning there are less than 10 tickets left to our gig on Thursday at the Basement! Get yourself a ticket ASAP so you don't miss out https://www.facebook.com/events/503356240490276
05.01.2022 We are VERY excited because there's just one more sleep til we play for @liveinyalounge See you at your place, 7.30
04.01.2022 On this Reconciliation Day, we’d like to acknowledge the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people who are the traditional custodians of the land we are privileged to live, work, and play music on. Recent events in America have rightly received a lot of media attention but we cannot forget that 432 Indigenous Australians have died in custody since 1991. Indigenous Australians also continue to have much lower life expectancy and worse health outcomes than non-indigenous Australians. This... is especially concerning when you consider the potential impact of viruses like Covid19. And just this week mining company Rio Tinto destroyed 46,000 year old rock shelters with important historical and cultural significance. The worst part? It was completely legal because the laws of Australia fail to protect Indigenous history. Take a look at your privilege and please consider donating to a group like Sisters Inside who provide relief for Indigenous Women: many of whom are locked up simply because they cannot afford to pay fines. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land. https://www.theguardian.com//deaths-in-our-backyard-432-in https://www.gofundme.com/f/bfvnvt-freethepeople https://www.abc.net.au//rio-tinto-blast-destroys-/12286652
