25.01.2022 If you’ve ever been injured, you know that it’s going to be important to do some kind of rehabilitation to help heal the injury and return back to sport. Injuries suck but are a part of playing competitive sport, even with the best training and diligence you can still get injured. 24.01.2022 It’s ok to be a little more stressed at the moment, life has changed and we need to adapt to those changes. Uncertainty is a big contributing factor to your increased stress. Instead of letting it take control of you, focus on what you CAN control rather than what you can’t. It’s not about NEVER being stressed, the stress response is important but there needs to be a balance. The more you practice managing stress the better you will cope in stressful situations.

17.01.2022 Do you rely on willpower?
17.01.2022 Not being able to play sport right now sucks! You worked so hard to get yourself in good shape for the season, then bang! Everything is suspended. However, those who are being be proactive as opposed to reactive are making the most of this situation. If you’re a semi-professional or an amateur-level athlete you’ve got an opportunity right now. You have the chance to keep working and be prepared ahead of the rest of your competition. Those who don’t do anything over the next few months and then expect just to jump straight back into the sport with no issues are at a very high risk of injury.

15.01.2022 Sleep is by far the most underrated and underutilised performance enhancer
14.01.2022 Motivation is not going to be enough to create long term and sustainable progress, motivation is forever ebbing and flowing, it comes and goes. Right now, you have an opportunity to adjust your routine, you can actually change/set up your lifestyle to maximise progress. For example, if you are now working from home, so your environment’s changed, although you should still try and find a little space that can become your new work station. By creating a new space in house specifically for work you can stay productive, and when you leave that space you can leave the work behind. You should separate your different spaces, i.e. set up a home gym space, set up a relaxing space, set up a lunch room space. This will help you switch off from certain tasks and switch on for the right task at the right time.
14.01.2022 If you’re going through a rehabilitation program you should be working with a Physiotherapist (Physio). You should also seek the advice of a Strength and Conditioning Coach (S&C) to keep the rest of your body ticking over.

11.01.2022 Let’s define what sports performance is, to enhance your sports performance you need to be improving the skills and athleticism that is required to compete in the sport. Ideally, you want your athleticism to transfer to the sports specific skills. To improve your skills you need to be doing sports specific training drills and playing the sport itself. As Strength and Conditioning Coaches (S&C) it’s not our role to help you improve your sports specific skills, that is the role... of your sports coach. It’s great for S&C’s to understand what is required for the sport, especially the physiology, movements mechanics, and physical demands. But an S&C should have very minimal input when it comes to skills, game play and strategy. S&C’s just need to understand what is required of the athlete, and potentially how, from an athletic standpoint, they might be able to help. See more
10.01.2022 We've got the secret..........
10.01.2022 January has some BIG goals about it, lesss gooo!!!!
10.01.2022 Managing your training loads is more about how you plan and prepare for your training than it is the actual training itself. Goldie locks is a great way to visual training load too much and you run the risk of overtraining (which can lead to over-use injuries and decreased performance), too little and you don’t get enough training stimulus to improve performance (low training volume can also lead to increased injury risk due the lack of physical preparation), just right is where your training optimizes performance with the lowest risk of injury.
10.01.2022 Motivation may get you started, but everything after that is whether you are willing to do what is needed to end up where you want to be. Motivation can be a part of the journey, although it will ebb and flow. Here is how you maintain it!
09.01.2022 There are certainly times where doing something is better than nothing, although, if you want to take your game to the next level you have to attack most sessions with the intent to get better.
09.01.2022 How fitness should fit into your rehab program
09.01.2022 Being fitter than your opponent can sometimes be the differnce between winning and losing. Being fitter not only means you can physically outlast your opponents, it also gives you a mental advantage to make better decisions when your tired. However, being fit is very sport specific and every sport has it’s own specific demands, therefore it’s important to know how fit you need to be for your sport.
08.01.2022 Getting injured sucks and your going to need the right help to get back
06.01.2022 Training really hard and often not only breaks down muscles it also impacts our immune system. If you push too hard too often your immune system can become supressed which makes your body susceptible to foreign bacteria and viruses.
05.01.2022 Just because your at home doesn’t mean you’re automatically more likely to workout more. You still have to make the time to workout. The positive now though is you maybe saving time by not having to travel to a physical gym, although, how you use that time though is another thing.
05.01.2022 If you want to achieve great things, you need to set goals

04.01.2022 If you want to stay the same weight you need energy balance, which works as an average over time. Think of it like your bank account you can’t just save up your money all week and blow it all on the weekend. You can spend it when you like just make sure your not spending MORE than what your saving. If you spend the same amount you save, your bank balance will stay the same.
03.01.2022 Another day, more workouts ticked off! Consitency is key :)
03.01.2022 Dan from Range of Motion Business Mentoring sits down with Ryan Gaias from Ludus Sports Performance. Ryan talks about the three major 'wins' his business is hav...ing during COVID-19, and explores: Getting out 'in front' of the issue. Creating 'home gym' gift packs for their athletes. Incorporating at home 'testing' and 'gamification strategies for their athletes. The importance of not just trying to maintain the 'status quo', but go ABOVE the status quo with client value. How new experiences during lock down are going to make the business stronger post COVID-19. How this situation has launched new initiatives which will benefit the future. Part of a series of interviews between Dan from ROM Business Mentoring, and his Business Mentoring clients on how they're thriving during the COVID-19 pandemic.

02.01.2022 Eat more and lose fat!
01.01.2022 It’s important to approach nutrition as a holistic, all encompassing idea towards health, aesthetics and performance. A lot of people see nutrition as a diet to where they’ll lose weight or gain muscle mass to look good. Which is completely fine. However, we need to look at nutrition as a bigger picture. Even if your goal is to improve aesthetics or body composition, you should also try to improve health and improve performance at the same time.
01.01.2022 Day 1 complete! Walls came down, the construction of our 2 new offices started and all wood recycled from the previous structure! Great job to all and big thanks to Fraser, Paul, Pierre , Ben and Iain for helping along with our staff
