13.01.2022 We get asked a lot what causes blocked drains, and there are a lot of reasons! Here are some tips for keeping your drains clear: - The only things that should be flushed down the toilet are urine, faeces and toilet paper. Absolutely. Nothing. Else.... - Do not drain cooking oils or food scraps down the sink. - Toilet deodorizers are a great idea until the fall into the toilet and block the sewer. Be wary of these. - Trees love your pipes! Tree roots are the most common and most expensive cause of drainage issues. - There is no such thing as "flushable wipes". Just because it says so on the packet, doesnt make it true. - Excessive hair in the drain can cause some nasty smells. The shower is especially prone to this issue. Smelly, noisy or gurgling drains are a sign something is not right. Dealing with this sooner rather than later will save you stress and probably money.
