20.01.2022 Another great weekend to be a Queenslander! Spent it at Sandstone Point with some family, watching fire twirlers, a huge bonfire and fireworks! Oh and treated myself to a cheeky donut!

19.01.2022 It’s rare I take a selfie these days, but I had a great weekend, met lots of new people, spent my whole weekend out in the sun, so was feeling pretty good! (Plus I love my new Ray Bans!) Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

18.01.2022 Another from the memories! This shot is a perfect example of how combining light painting and motion can create a pretty pleasing look. I’ve included the behind the scenes shot so you can see how it looks normally. To create the look, I light painted the car, then I jacked the car up and spun the wheels to give the illusion the car is driving. Then I moved the car and got a photo of the background by itself. Then when all combined, with the blurred background, this is the r...esult! Any questions about the process, feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer!

15.01.2022 We had a Sea World day today! Amarli (my littlest best friend) and I got to see the Sponge Bob crew!

13.01.2022 Spent the weekend hanging out with @leviclarke and the crew at Powercruise. Only 2 weeks until Matsuri! Will be camping there for the weekend and I’ll be sure to get you all some in car footage of door rubbing drifting!

12.01.2022 One of the most common questions I get in my inbox is how do you shoot at such a low shutter speed but get the car so crisp still!? Which the answer is simple. I don’t. I shoot at a around 1/80 - 1/250 to ensure I get the perfect freeze frame of the car, then edit the motion in the background afterwards. The other question I get ALL the time is do you fake your photos because you’re actually just a bad photographer and can’t shoot low shutter speeds?... The answer to that is why I used this photo. This event back in 2012 was when I fell in love with extreme motion blur backgrounds. But I always hated how it’s (almost) impossible to get the car tac sharp while shooting so low. The other thing I hated was you would get say 1 in 10 successful shots at such low shutter. So after this event I started experimenting and came up with my own way to edit which I still use today. I get 9 out of 10 shots nailed perfectly and can edit the motion blur perfectly afterwards. Amy clients choose me for that reason. They are guaranteed tack sharp photos and that’s why I believe I’ve been as successful as I have been! This photo was shot at 1/13 from memory. It’s got a lovely background but the car isn’t perfect. I can shoot low shutter... I just choose not to. After I finish the WTAC series I’ll be posting before and after of my edits. Stay tuned!
