12.01.2022 A beautiful display of roses that were pruned by LGS worker Ben.

12.01.2022 Victoria's floral emblem the Pink Heath growing naturally in the Otways. Beautiful!

10.01.2022 We have just updated our cover photo to show off the gorgeous Robin Hood Grevillea. There are about 250 different species of Grevillea including shrubs & ground covers. They love good drainage, a slightly acid soil & can even be grown as a container plant!

10.01.2022 Spring, spring, spring! Our favourite season of the year.

09.01.2022 LGS will be closed from this Friday 26th until Monday 29th. Work resuming on Tues 30th. Thanks!

08.01.2022 Our winter veggies got a smashing recently from frosts, slugs & snails, so Mrs R decided she wanted a polytunnel. Investigation of polytunnel prices indicated saving would be required! After watching last weeks episode of Gardening Australia we have used Tino's (from Tasmania) idea of hay bales & protection on top & couldnt be more thrilled!! We were lucky enough to have hay bales on hand & used the ones from the bottom of the pile that were starting to rot on the bottom. After reducing a rose garden in size, meant we had some soil to spare & I was able to pick up two window frames from a second hand shop for $7! Not only has this met our recycle principle, when the garden beds start decomposing, we will be able to use them as compost, satisfying our reuse principle too!

06.01.2022 How beautiful are flowering gum trees? We spotted the one on our profile photo tonight while walking & think they are a spectacular tree. With over 600 species of gums available there will be one to suit your garden!

05.01.2022 Today in this beautiful sun we are raking up leaves! In autumn decidious trees loose their leaves. Yes this a messy time but think positively & use your leaves in the compost or as mulch!
