25.01.2022 This is a job I completed in 2015, I had to extend the height of the hand rails on the large stairs and add screening to make stairs compliant and to screen out the neighbouring property. I then also screened small stairs to make them compliant
24.01.2022 Here I designed and built a mobile trolley for the use of painting various parts on. It has a rail for hanging multiple parts across the top, and a mesh work table to paint on also. It also has a pull tray under the work table which can be lined with paper to catch the over spray and dust from painting. Also underneath was a provision for a shelf to hold the painting equipment. The Sides of the trolley were also lined with core flute, to make them replaceable when they started to look shabby from over spray.
23.01.2022 This is Bracket I had to make for my previous employer, as I had to make over 100 of these brackets, and to make them consistent with each other, I also created a jig to build them with. This ensures reliability and consistency with the build of the brackets
20.01.2022 Custom built garden sheds, with fixed shelves to suit 35lt and 50lt tubs, built on reclaimed plastic composite sleepers and concrete sheeted sub floor. Also custom built aviary in the final pic (which unfortunately I cant find pics for)
19.01.2022 This was a huge fence upgrade, initially the fence was brick with tubular bars. Everything was recapped with and blue boarded, then finally texture coated (sub contracted for texture coating). Post were added to mount modwood screening, gates all fabricated from galvanised steel and powder coated for a long lasting finish.
19.01.2022 This is one of 4 large work benches I have made for a customer, these were built to the customers specifications. Approx 750mm wide and 2500mm long with 5mm plate for the bench top
17.01.2022 Steel frame construction, powder coated, with modwood screen and decking. Extra large slide, and chalk board. Also has a steel frame base with deck edging and paved to help with low maintenance (landscaping still to come)
17.01.2022 This is a shelf I had built to hold our drill and machine vice for my previous employer
17.01.2022 This is a trolley I have built to hold 9 of the these wooden drawers, and a spare shelf at the bottom for other hardware
16.01.2022 For this job, I was commissioned to build 2 very large trailers, that were used to transport smaller trailers around the various plants of our factory. This job was designed by an engineer, and drawings for this unit were supplied by the engineer. The fish plates (corner plates) were laser cut by a local company (who I still have access to if needed), but all other material was cut, assembled, welded and painted by myself, to the engineers specifications.
16.01.2022 This is a modification I have made to pallet trailers for my previous employer. We had received new, larger pallets then previously, which meant the trailers were no longer usable with the new pallets. I made the modifications, to save on buying in, or building new trailers (16 trailers in total), saving the company thousands of dollars in the long run
14.01.2022 This was Something I was commissioned to build by another engineer, they came up with initial design, but as I was fabricating the job, I found I had to make some modifications to the design, in order to get it to operate correctly. This rig was designed to elevate or retract some cleaning brushes for a conveyor belt. Some parts had to be machined to give and accurate lift with the use of cams and rollers and a 3 meter torsion bar, but the unit was entirely assembled and welded by myself, with the machining being outsourced due to time restraints. Although I dont have access to equipment to perform the machining tasks myself currently, I still have a reliable supplier for any parts that do require machining for future projects.
14.01.2022 This is a trolley I have converted into a fixed station for my previous employer. I found it was cheaper to convert some old, disused trolleys, into the fixed position turntable, then it would have to been, to build new ones. Another example of what I can do for production environments.
13.01.2022 This is a trolley I had to upgrade to take increased weight for my previous employer. I had to reinforce and raise the centre rails, as well as, add new sheet metal to top (with the use of sika flex for sound dampening purposes while trolley in transit), to support extra weight being added to trolley.
12.01.2022 While working at my previous employment, I found we had an issue with over spray from people painting various items, as it was going all over the floor and nearby benches. To prevent this, and to contain painting to one area, I created a large painting booth in our department. This booth contained our flam proof cupboards with all our paint, and a safe ignition free environment to paint in, and also helped with keeping the rest of the department free from paint and over spray. The booth was fabricated from 40 x 40 x 3 RHS and clear PVC sheeting. This demonstrates how I can ,not only take on small jobs, but also am capable of larger scale fabrication items also, whether it be for the home, your factory or workshop.
12.01.2022 This was jig I had designed and fabricated for moving a 40kg wheel around our department. Due to safety concerns, the wheel was not permitted to be moved or lifted into place by hand, purely because of its excessive weight. I was commissioned to come up with a solution for not only moving the wheels, but for locating the wheels during mounting onto trailers. My solution was to create a jig that could clamp onto the wheel, with a handle, for moving the wheel around and positing it into place, then, the handle could fold down and create a stand for the wheel. This allowed the operator to lower the trailer (which was on a jack), down onto the wheel, without the involvement of any heavy lifting. It was a very successful tool, that was used on a daily basis for many years.
11.01.2022 This is some custom brackets I had made for a customer, to their specifications
09.01.2022 This is a bracket that I had to make over 100 of, for my previous employer. The slot was machined in, prior to my assembly of the bracket. Using a jig that I had made to weld these together, meant I could create every bracket consistently and very quickly.
09.01.2022 This is an example of other things that I capable of with timber, not just limited to steel fabrication. We had a problem at my previous employer with our painting equipment dumped under our painting trolley (something I built also), to tidy up and fix this problem, using a system we call 5S, I built a partitioned storage solution, to hold all our painting tools.
06.01.2022 I built the framework using 75mm c section and custom-made rails, including installing the window and sliding door, and cladded the front of this shed with blue board, allowing a contractor to render and stone finish the rest of the facia after I was done. I currently dont have photos of the finished result, but will try to source some soon.
02.01.2022 This was a work bench that I had built, since these photos were taken, the bench now has an 32mm mdf base with a folded 3mm sheet steel top, and melamine shelves for storage of plastic tubs.
01.01.2022 This was large job I undertook for a customer, that required some screening to reduce the weather extremes on the rear of their house, they also requested that it was matching in with the existing colours of the house. I built these screens from galvanised steel and had them powder coated to match the roof of the house, to ensure that they will last for a very long time.
