19.01.2022 I drew "consuME" almost 3 years ago to show the strain that plastic bags have on us and the environment. As always, my work is open to interpretation - I like to let you decide its message. However, it saddens me that here in NSW we are now the only state that still cannot make a definitive plan to ban single-use plastic bags. With giant retailers already banning them, and everyone I know uses reusable bags, what is the delay here? Can't we just copy whatever the other states did and action it? Environment Minister Matt Kean doesn't seem to have any answers and can't even enforce a date other than to "look at plastics more broadly." What are your thoughts on this flimsy attitude and situation?
19.01.2022 virUS. Coloured pencil in sketchpad. 2019. I quickly drew this on the train to Sydney last September after I had just overcome what I remember to be the worst flu Ive experienced. With time Im pondering old sketchbooks and felt the need to share this as it shows link between eyes, nose and throat, and the mind as applied to the mental affect of the virus on US.

16.01.2022 (F)ART. Mixed media installation. Lu-Key 2020. Let us permanently acknowledge this crazy time in history where the most disposable paper of all is actually worth more than some (of my) art. ... The use of fine art marker on this crap paper juxtaposes the permanency of this artwork, which will be used on the ass of someone in a bathroom. Thus stating that art, like many things in the present world, have diminished in value while the demand and price of toilet paper has skyrocketed. The value of toilet paper has also made me rethink the galleries of the world should all be a toilet, a place where someone has a few minutes to themselves to sit and ponder, then become a part of this installation by smearing shit all over it at the end and flushing it away. Use this paper only if more than a fart, (F)uck ART. See more

14.01.2022 In this time let us remember that listening to advice, time for reflection, art, music and self awareness is most valuable. This artwork derived from the actual importance of listening to rain fall on a roof, and how valuable that sound has always been in Australia. Not weeks ago we were in a crisi of drought and fire and before that, terrorism, and before that there was also a problem...as long as we live there is problems. Just do what you can for one another and embrace and adapt as Darwins theories show, we will survive but with sacrifice, rapid evolution.

10.01.2022 Home Alone. Watercolours & Ballpoint Pen on Paper. Lu-Key 2019. This is another previously unreleased commission from 2019. The brief was simply my interpretation of the music single titled Home Alone (still to be released). My take on the concept was of a large, cold and empty house and as a child that first feeling of being left there alone. The anxiety or depression attached to that first experience of loneliness can be recurring at times in your life and either crushes... or empowers you. Like all of my art I present a contradiction though, being the hermit crab which has the ability to change its shell and leave its current situation, but will always live in its shell alone. A protective shell or home can also be its hinderance. Now thats presented just to make you think. But is your chosen space or home one of comfort or despair? Does it fulfil you or leave you feeling alone? Apply it to your mental space. We are all currently experiencing some of these feelings as we go through self isolation due to COVID-19, but what will you do when we are able to re-emerge from our safe spaces? Perhaps youre growing and need to change your shell, perhaps youre enjoying this time alone and self exploring in many ways. Take a moment to think of elderly, disabled or abused people who feel trapped by their home or body, we are doing this temporarily, yet some live in these cold places and yearn for a place of warmth and happiness. Use this time for positive change for yourself, never complain, appreciate what you have, and always think of others xx See more

05.01.2022 Behind the 8 Ball. Watercolour, ballpoint pen and graphite on paper. Lu-Key 2019. Another commission piece from late last year, where I was given the artwork title as inspiration.... I figure this to be a person down on their luck or with nowhere else to turn. Carrying the weight of lifes burden, he has seen some hardships and now finds himself on the edge of a cliff. This large deformity he has acquired makes it hard to go on, and perhaps the only way forward is to plummet to his fate. See more

03.01.2022 Some closeup footage of a 2013 work called Off Your Rocker. Im always attracted to objects of movement and then strip them of that power in the subconscious realm as a contradicting perspective. A rocking chair is fascinating to me because it moves back and forth, however never moves its place in terms of distance across the floor. When this was drawn in 2013 I felt this movement was corresponding to my mood after work, where Id have a few drinks to wind down, I was alwa...ys moving, but perhaps not in a particular good direction. If you had another drink perhaps you slumped into a chair and that movement could cease altogether. Flipping through my drawings today I see a new relevance in this again. Many of us feel stuck in an odd place where we are indoors a lot more, perhaps drinking more as well. Whilst time in terms of the sunrise and sunset continues around us, many of us are sitting in a chair and waiting for this to pass. Find some direction in positive little things around you; take this pause to look at your surroundings and nature, read books, digest albums and try your hand at new arts or skills.
