22.01.2022 Here's my top nine of 2020! #topnine2020 #bestnine2020 I feel I haven't been posting as much as I should. There's only one way to fix this be better next year! Also, I wish to draw more portraits of different animals and birds. Let's just spell it out so I've got no excuse in 2021 I will draw (at least) an echidna, a bandicoot, and a wombat just because they're too cute. And there'll be more products added to my colour series. It's time to start setting those 2021 goals. Have a great New Year's Eve and I hope you get to celebrate life! Here's to a better 2021!

20.01.2022 For a bit of Christmas inspo, here are my gift tags with Christmas marsupials. Available from my Etsy shop and also this Sunday at Perth Upmarket

20.01.2022 Charcoal drawing of the New Holland Honeyeater I drew in 2018. Posting this as the original drawing sold today at Wildernest! I always get mixed feelings when it happens. This one is inspired by honeyeaters in our own garden that come and eat the nectar of the grevillea blossoms every afternoon. I'm happy it sold as this means more new art can get framed. I'm flattered someone actually liked it this much to buy it. And of course I'm sad to let it go as well. But overall I'm still very grateful and happy. Thank you for supporting my art journey!

19.01.2022 Here are my Christmas pygmy possums to remind you that Christmas is getting closer every day. So, no pressure, but it’s definitely time to order your Christmas cards and start sending those cards off! Talking from my own experience, post can be painfully slow and Christmas greetings don’t really work that well in January... Another option is to come and get your Christmas cards next Sunday, 29th of Nov from @perthupmarket. And unless your planning to send them to the other side of the world, you should still be alright with the timing. ;)

18.01.2022 Here is my pastel sketch of a Christmas quokka. Not a lot of people realise there are quokkas down south near Walpole as well as the famous Rottnest island. Just a bit harder (read: impossible) to get selfies with the wild ones here. My (not so) secret Christmas wish would be a trip to Rottnest so I could get my fix of quokkas. I know it's too late to plan a trip this year, but I can settle for any time next year.

18.01.2022 Our first Perth Christmas Upmarket is happening tomorrow! The market is set in the grounds ofThe University of Western Australia on Sunday, 29th of November 10am 4pm. We’ll be selling theChristmas rangeof cards, mini cards, gift tags and wrapping paper along side the magnets, greeting cards and prints featuringAustralian wildlife. There will be new designs we're excited to show you! You can find us at stall 111 in the outside are near the pond. See you soon!

16.01.2022 Can't get over the wrens! This is a male splendid fairywren (on a card and magnet). As it's drawn with charcoal, the wren is without its amazing blue colour, but this way you can really notice the little details. There's more than the colour going on for these special little birds!

16.01.2022 This is my new range of cards with watercolour shells! Something a bit different for me as it's in colour. I'm excited to pick up the framed originals today from Haese's Picture Framing so I can display them at Wildernest. The nature here just keeps on giving new material to work on. I love it.

14.01.2022 Meet the mudlark! These birds look similar to magpies (and are also called magpie-larks), but are not closely related to magpies or larks. Confusing... As they belong to the family of monarch flycatchers. They have a few talents as they are said to be good at dancing and singing duets! Thank you @jude.elliott.62 for requesting a drawing of this bird for her soon to open accommodation (that has lots of mudlarks around). I had fun getting to know these little birds.

14.01.2022 A sleeping pygmy possum sketch in pastel. These little marsupials must be the cutest creatures ever!

13.01.2022 Wait, there's more! If you missed out on the Artisan and Designer Gift Fair, don't despair. This year for the first time it's followed by the Artisan and Designer Pop Up at the same venue, newly upgraded Albany Town Hall. The pop up showcases 13 artists' work, some of them being familiar from the gift fair and some are new. We're very happy to have Lumi Studio products there amongst all the wonderful creatives! The pop up is open until 23rd of December TuesdayFriday 10am5pm in Albany Town Hall second floor. Just look at those photos, so many amazing gift ideas.

12.01.2022 I’m a year wiser today. I know how important it is not to give up. I know how difficult it is to stay motivated if you've lost your purpose. I know how easy it is to feel unseen. But I also know it's about knowing your worth. It's essential to have your own kind of people around to make life a happy journey. It's about choices and we all have them. Every single day.

11.01.2022 Thanks so much to everyone who visited our stall today at Perth Upmarket We had a great day with lots of lovely customers. We hope our wrapping paper, cards and gift tags will make these Christmas more special. Definitely means a lot to us to play this little, but important part of the Christmas gift giving tradition. Our next event will be this Thursday to Saturday at Artisan and Designer Gift Fair in Albany down south.

10.01.2022 Our first Perth Upmarket is on next Sunday! Our as my partner Jack has become part of the studio as well. He’s been a great help with packaging and making so I can do more creating. The Christmas Upmarket is held at The University of Western Australia’s Winthrop Hall and surrounds on the 29th of November 104. Our stall will be outside Winthrop Hall near the pond. We’ll bring all our Christmas range, wildlife cards and prints, magnets and more including some products that are still in making. Come and find us!

08.01.2022 I've been having fun creating new patterns for my wrapping paper range! Here is the three I have for sale at Wildernest. Latest one being the wildflowers (as it is the theme of the spring).

05.01.2022 I've finally added the original wall art to my website so if you've been thinking of something new for your walls, have a look at my web gallery. Our pop up gallery Wildernest is still open for another month (finishing 1st of November). Come say hi when in Walpole!

04.01.2022 Here's my magpie with the added ground level. Still giving the intense look... As that's just their nature. Magpies are very social (and territorial) birds and usually hang out in bigger groups. What I love the most about them is their yodelling call as you wouldn't expect them to have such a variety of sounds. Definitely better to get along with them than not!

03.01.2022 As I've been getting into more blue wren drawing lately, I remembered to add this set to my Etsy shop! The mini cards are my favourite size. Unless you're into writing long letters into cards (which is very cool as it's bit of a dying art!) then these cards are big enough for short and sweet messages. You can find my online shop at http://lumistudioau.etsy.com/ Thank you!

02.01.2022 This beautiful blue wren boy is one of the many we have in our garden. You can see his colours are just starting to change as he has a bit of blue eye shadow. Soon he'll be electric blue to catch the eye of his girlfriends. And of course all the others who admire the blue wrens. I'm excited as I will have more time to get reference photos this year. Lucky to have this amazing nature around us!

01.01.2022 Here's a tawny frogmouth from 2017. This was one of the first charcoal drawings for the series of Australian wildlife portraits. Still love his grumpy face, but can't believe it's 2021 already.

01.01.2022 Here is one of my three Christmas wrapping paper designs! I had the most fun drawing and painting these native birds and plants with all the Christmas elements. It took a while to have it as I like it, but I thoroughly enjoyed the process of it. The pattern making is something I'll take to 2021. All 6 of my wrapping papers (3 Christmas and 3 any occasion) are available for 3 more days from Artisan and Designer Pop Up by Artisan and Designer Gift Fair in Albany Town Hall. Open Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd 10am to 5pm. If you haven't been there yet, you should. Go for the best Christmas shopping experience around where you'll also find my full range of products. Happy holidays!
