07.01.2022 ... A CELEBRATION OF WOOL for Wool Week, we are celebrating the arrival of our long awaited yarn shipment. We support and buy Australian Wool - this piece is by the very beautiful yarn supplier ZEGNA. But sadly, we do not spin or dye yarn in Australia any more. There may be one or two, but they do not supply the high quality yarn we designers need for machine knitting, nor will they supply in smaller quantities. We are forced to buy from overseas and rely on agents to co...nsolidate their shipments - meaning months of delay. So our beautiful Australian Wool : is shipped overseas, spun and dyed and we then pay for the yarn AND shipping AND customs. Crazy. We also have to pay DUTY on the yarn coming back in. But much larger company's who ship this same yarn to China for production DON'T have to pay duty. Never a fair playing field. But we stand by our ethos, create unique, natural, quality knitted textiles & support our local knit industry & environment for sustainable growth & integrity.
