11.01.2022 Hyperemesis Gravidarum: a severe type of nausea during pregnancy. Symptoms include feeling faint or dizzy when standing, persistent vomiting which often lead to dehydration. This is my second HG pregnancy, although I feel this one I was more prepared and have avoided as many trips to the hospital as last time. This photo shows maybe only a couple weeks worth of my everyday reality since September 2020. While I've managed to continue working through this pregnancy, it has be...en an incredible challenge. Some days, I feel I can take on the world but most of the time I'm curled up feeling nauseous, exhausted, and frustrated that I can't physically do what i used to. Due to my lack of energy, I have said no to most orders so to reserve what energy I do have for my 2 year old. I often find myself playing down how I actually feel as it's easier to just say, "I'm just feeling a bit sick" than to explain the reality. On the flip side, I have found the need to defend my sickness to people (including friends and health professionals) due to the lack of education around the diagnosis. I am writing this today to hopefully let people understand ~ I am still here. I am still present. I am still trying my best. But sometimes, my best has to be kept for myself and my family.
