24.01.2022 Check out the amazing work happening in Stage 2! English - students have been learning about the English textual concept character and understanding how we use characters to drive a story. They have been reading TheTwits by Roald Dahl and are now beginning to create their very own character for the next chapter of the book. Check out the amazing writing on display! Maths - students have been learning about volume & capacity and fractions. It has been so much fun using... concrete materials such as playdough to learn and understand the mathematical concepts! Well done to everyone

23.01.2022 2C had a wonderful time enjoying the lovely weather and making something from nothing today! We found objects from the outdoors to create artworks for our writing plans. Why not have a go at home and see where your imagination takes you?

23.01.2022 KINDER 2021 Keep an eye out on your mail this week as there will be a new pack arriving soon! This one has lots of mathematical activities as well as some information about CommBank School Banking and a note advising you when you can purchase uniforms.

22.01.2022 Is your child ready to start school next year? Do you know someone who is? Kindergarten enrolments for 2021 are open! This year things will be a little bit different. Enrolments will be taken over email: [email protected]... We will be communicating through email, updating information on Facebook, mailing information and resources home throughout Term 4. It is important we have your up to date information so you dont miss out. Looking forward to connecting with our 2021 Kinder families.

21.01.2022 Monday 23 November 2020 is our Presentation Day Ceremony. Due to some students not having permission to publish, we are unable to broadcast the whole event LIVE via our Facebook page. Parents and carers are invited, however, to tune into the LIVE announcement of our School Captains for 2021 from 10.30am. An edited version of the event will be posted at the conclusion of the ceremony.

14.01.2022 Year 6 were lucky to have another Zoom with Western Sydney University’s First Foot Forward leaders. Today’s topic was ‘Tips & Tricks’ for a smooth transition to high school. With help from Harry Potter & friends.

14.01.2022 Stage 2 had an amazing day of learning today! We had Ranger Jamie and his friends attend our school to help us with our learning in science. We had fun learning about forces, such as air pressure and gravity.

11.01.2022 Today we celebrated Indigenous Literacy day! Indigenous Literacy Day is a celebration of Indigenous culture, stories, language and literacy.

11.01.2022 Today we said a socially-distanced farewell to Mrs Tracey Love. Mrs Love is transferring to a new school closer to home. We wish Mrs Love all the best at her new school and many thanks for her 23 years of service to the students of Lurnea Public School.

09.01.2022 The NSW Department of Education has revised its Learning Guidelines in line with current health advice. The guidelines make particular reference to Safety and Hygiene and our school is required to comply with these guidelines from tomorrow, 19 August 2020. If your child has been absent from school due to flu like illness or develops flu like symptoms while at school, they are not to return to school until they have a negative COVID-19 test and are symptom free. ... Our Principal, David Martin will record a video message for the Lurnea community later today. All students will receive a note today also.

09.01.2022 Kindergarten 2021 Our second clip shows you our eating breaks during the school day. We start with crunch and sip where student’s crunch on fruit and sip on water. This usually occurs at 10am. ... This is followed by lunch. A sandwich, drink and snack is packed in a lunch box ready for the lunch break. We also have a canteen where you can order lunch. Our last eating break is recess. This where students can have an afternoon snack. Our fabulous students from Kindergarten show you all our eating breaks in the video. Please share with your children who are starting next year!

Our learning launched with a BLAST OFF and is now orbiting between building on familiar concepts and discovering brand new content We can’t wait to keep reaching for the stars and smashing our Learning Targets in Term 2!
