16.01.2022 Good evening As you may know, I am the current owner of Lush Hairdessing here in Tocumwal - and AMAVI HAIR By Jayde is my new, exciting adventure! In the c...oming weeks/months I will be making the move from Deniliquin Rd to Hill Street (our home) and I will begin working from my new ‘home’ salon inside a portable office! Upon completion I will be closing the doors at Lush to fully focus on my new business. I feel sad to close that chapter, but it’s time to focus a little more on my kids and husband and after more than 7 years I look forward to slowing down This move is very much about improving my work and home balance! I will be working alone, but I will still be available the same hours as I always was - this just allows me to be closer to my family and be a little more flexible for them, and of course my clients. I will let everyone know what is happening as it progresses and when we have the dates finalised I will be sure to let everyone know that too! In the meantime I will continue to work from Lush as usual. I can’t wait for my clients to see my brand new space and all the thought that I have put into this for close to a year! Thank you to everyone that has supported Lush over the past 12 months, it means so much to us! Just letting you all know that we are all back at work after our little break, and ready to take care of you once again!! ... 09.01.2022 As you have all no doubt recently seen/heard, at this point we are still able to open the salon and trade as usual! Yay! As the rules/laws are rapidly changing I have decided that FOR PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES ONLY I will be in the salon at designated times tomorrow, on a day that we are normally closed, to offer retail sales and advice on what products may help to prolong your cut or colour incase we do in fact need to shut down! **I will NOT under any circumstances be perf...orming ANY hair services tomorrow and I ask that you please respect that and don’t ask me to do your hair while while I’m there as until further notice our regular weekly appointment times will be as usual!** I will be at Lush tomorrow, Monday 23rd of March between the following times - 10.30am - 12pm. 4.30pm - 6pm. If you need shampoo, conditioner, hair treatments or styling products please come in and see me as I’m really unsure how much longer I will be able to stay open to retail these things! I AM ESPECIALLY CONCERNED ABOUT OUR BLONDE CLIENTS as it’s best to try to prevent your hair going brassy and dry if you can’t actually come to see us at the salon for your usual appointment! I will also take phone orders as long as they are picked up within these designated times! Call us on (03) 58742422 and I will answer if possible OR leave a message with your name, retail products needed and phone number and I’ll call back ASAP to confirm your RETAIL order! Calls regarding appointments will be answered Tuesday! Lastly, and I really cannot stress this enough, please PLEASE don’t feel you need to attend your appointment in the coming weeks if you don’t wish to be exposed to other people or if you’re concerned about spreading it! We are trying our best but these really are uncertain times! Most importantly - STAY HOME IF YOU ARE FEELING UNWELL! We will not be upset if you cancel your appointments due to being sick/concerned!! 06.01.2022 Hey Guys! Just thought I would clear up any confusion regarding the Coronavirus! We are currently OPEN and performing all hair services and we will stay that way unless such a time comes that we are told to do anything different! We understand that many business’s have already made the tough decision to close its doors at this time and we totally respect that, but at this point in time, with no confirmed cases in Tocumwal or surrounds, we don’t feel the need! ... We understand that people are starting to worry about not getting an appointment before something like that happens, we do have appointments left next week (and after that) and have been happily extending our hours (where possible) to take on more clients just incase! Existing clients or new clients - we are happy to see you whether it’s a one off or not Please take comfort in the fact that hairdressers have strict hygiene guidelines that we follow ALL THE TIME, but we have upped our game even more to ensure the safety of our clients, my staff, myself and our families! We are disinfecting everything in between clients and trying to space ourselves out as to not put clients at risk of contracting things from each other! We are also going through a crazy amount of Glen 20, Pine O’Clean, hand wash, hand sanitiser etc! You’ll probably even smell it walking in!! As seen in the photos attached, tonight I have completed the Australian Government Department of Health ‘Infection Control Training - Covid 19’ course to try stay a step ahead of this virus.... yes, this is what I chose to do on a Friday night!! That is how seriously we are taking this! We will do our best to help YOU, but we do ask you do your best to help us back! Please reschedule any appointments if you are sick, have recently been overseas or have been in contact with someone who has been or if you feel as though you don’t want to come to a public space! We are doing all we can, but ultimately the decision is up to you! Please just give us as much notice as possible so we can fill the free appointment ***Please note that the salon deals with numerous people that are in their 80’s and 90’s each day, as well as people with existing medical conditions and people with young children (myself included) so please consider that when you are making the decision whether to come in or not. Above all please remember that this is a truely stressful time for everyone! 05.01.2022 Winter is coming!! Even though we will miss the sunshine we get so excited about being able to get creative and change it up for our clients by going a bit DARKER for winter! Who doesn’t love change?! Darker hair always feels softer, healthier and shinier!! AND the best part is that colours like the one below (sometimes) allow us to to have a break from bleach for a while - hair loves that, trust us! ... 05.01.2022 BUSHFIRE APPEAL RAFFLE & AUCTION This Friday evening 10th January at The Palms Hotel Tocumwal. We have teamed up with other local businesses who have do...nated a mixture of items to be raffled & auctioned off. Prizes range from gift vouchers, fruit & veg, meat trays, car service, skip bin hire, paintings and the list goes on 100% off all monies raised is being donated to the bushfire appeal. 04.01.2022 Final message in regards to Lush and the Coronavirus!! Tonight, as you know, we have decided to close our doors to help protect us all from Covid-19! It wasn’t a decision that was made lightly! I’m yet to find a harder decision that I have had to make in over 7 years at Lush than the one I made when I woke up thismorning to see our restrictions not tightened, but in fact lifted!! I feel I have done the right thing In going through with the shut down and I am proud to have st...epped up and done my part to protect our community when we were unfortunately so let down by the Australian Government! I’m sorry that we won’t be there for our clients for a while, but I would rather keep you all safe I want to give a massive shout out to my staff for being there this week and risking their health for Lush and our clients you guys have been under the pump and I really cannot thank you both enough, Tash Nixon Chelsea Cousin. Thank you to our amazing clients for understanding how hard this has been for us, and for your support and promises to return when we do! It’s so very much appreciated! On a more personal note, I want to thank my beautiful mum, amazing husband and gorgeous friends for their support! I think anyone that has dealt with me in the last week could see how sad and stressed this has made me and I love you all for being there for me and getting me through it I promise to try and be a little more chilled from here on in! Xx I’m thinking of everyone who has lost their jobs, business’s and are going through this hardship, but my heart is especially with everyone in the hair and beauty industry right now! 02.01.2022 Good morning Just a message to let everyone know that at the moment the wait time for a colour is roughly 2 - 4 weeks depending what kind of colour it is and even a haircut appointment is a bit rare at the moment. So because of this I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON NEW CLIENTS. I’m currently not answering the phone at the shop, but there is an answering machine so I’m getting back to people as soon as possible to make an appointment. Same with anyone inboxing me etc. I’m sorry if t...here is a delay, it’s a bit hectic at the moment I sincerely apologise that the wait is so long, I’m doing 10 - 12 hours a day (often longer) to try and get everyone in but I really appreciate everyone who has been patient and of course everyone who has been supporting me. Xx
01.01.2022 Sorry that it’s so late, but I just feel this information needs to be put out as soon as possible! As a result of now having to ‘restrict the time a client is in a salon to 30 minutes’ and also having put a limit on how many people we can have in the salon at any one time, I have had to make the heart wrenching decision to close up until this crazy saga is over! I said I wouldn’t shut until they made us shut, but they have really made it devastatingly hard to go about busi...ness as usual and I believe it’s in the best interest of my staff, my clients, myself and my family that we play our role in stopping the spread of COVID-19! I sincerely apologise to anyone who has appointments over the coming weeks and months, but as of close of business Thursday 26th we will be forced to shut indefinitely Hopefully back open sooner rather than later, on the better side of this tragedy! I would like to thank my staff for putting in the extra effort to help keep our clients happy and safe over the past little while, my clients for being super supportive of my business and of whatever decision I have felt was best in trying circumstances, and my family for dealing with the tears and panic attacks that have occurred in making this decision! I have so much love for you all Our appointments will be as normal tomorrow, but any clients booked in for colours the rest of this week will be contacted and we will try and fit you in tomorrow or change your appointment to something that will be done within the 30 minute time frame! My sincere apologies once again, but please understand that this decision has been such a hard one! I hope to see you all again when we all get through this!! Stay safe, look after each other, look for the positives in this awful situation and do those things around your home/in your life that you have been ‘too busy for’ for too long!
