25.01.2022 The worldwide average price per hour for SEO services is $148 USD (that's about $206 AUD). You can book a 90 minute session with me for $150 AUD and I'll show you how to do it yourself - bargain!
25.01.2022 One of the most exciting things I get to do is help my clients launch a new website Today, we launched a new site for @tarraleerullo, an ayruvedic medical practitioner and soul astrologer Thank you Tarra for letting me be part of this journey with you and I'm wishing you every success

25.01.2022 Okay, so a LOT of what I do isn't sexy, or even creative - but it's effective! However, every so often, I come across pure art in the code. This is an example of passive aggression at it's finest in the form of a robots.txt file (that's the file that tells Google what it can and can't look at on your site). This one wins the internet for me <3
23.01.2022 I recently deleted 200 followers from my account - yep, 200. But, there's a lot of new faces around here, in part because of that and I'd like to say a big hello to y'all I guess you're wondering why the hell I deleted 200 FOLLOWERS and it has a lot to do with who I am - and that is a big numbers nerd - the algo works in part by % so 50 comments from 800 followers is better than 50 comments from 1000 (you still gotta work on getting those 50 comments, though )... For those of you who don't know me so well, I love maths. I love numbers and I love the stories they can tell. ' , . Maths is a language. It's the only true universal language and we can use it to express the vibration a flower vs the vibrational signals of a virus and translate that into sound - the flower sounds beautiful and the virus sounds awful. So seriously, how fucking cool is maths? But maths ain't sexy and my whole life I've felt like an outsider. What I thought was cool maybe all the 'cool kids' didn't (yes, I love watching documentaries about maths, and recommend The Code on Netflix). It's now 2021 and I'm 44 years old. I'm doing the math and that means I don't have enough time left to give AF about what people consider cool anymore. This year I want to help people discover a love of numbers. WHY? Because without knowing your numbers you can't make informed business decissions. Decisions that will help you LEVEL THE FUCK UP. Forget high school - high school maths teachers in general should be shot (I had a few good ones, though and was lucky enough to go to a girls school where there was no 'girls don't math' attitudes). This is about discovering a new language and THAT'S who I am - I total freaking nerd. And frankingly, I love that about me. ? What are your limiting beliefs when it comes to numbers? Drop a comment below cause I want to know

22.01.2022 This week I helped another amazing client launch a BRAND NEW BUSINESS What a privilege it is helping someone bring a new business online - kinda like a website doula. I loved working with Trina from @reimagine.hr As you might know, my goal is to help women in business who want to make a difference in this world.... Trina wants the world, not just Perth, to reimagine a world where we put people first in Human Resources. A world where people aren't viewed as collateral like vehicles or office supplies, but as unique, powerful and purposeful creatures who can help grow businesses from within. And this is my jam. Helping women who want to change the world. So it means a lot to me when I get such beautiful feedback from clients like this - especially after I really pushed and challenged Trina on a few aspects of her site structure and she took it all onboard. I'd like to wish you all the success in the world, Trina! Now go kick some serious goals See more
22.01.2022 We all start somewhere, right? But what is it you wish you knew when you first built your website (or maybe you'd still like to know)? For me, I wish I knew more about user experience (UX) and the customer journey. ... I wish I knew the top three questions people ask when they land on a website: 1 Where am I? 2 What can I do here? 3 Why should I do it? These might seem like pretty obvious questions, but go back to your website and look at it like you have no idea about your business. Can you answer all of those questions in the first 5 seconds without having to scroll? I'd love to hear what you think about your experience building your site and I'd really love to hear from anyone who has gone back to their site and asked these questions See more
21.01.2022 Getting a bit bored of the generic Lorem Ipsum text when you're creating a new webpage? How about cupcake Ipsum? This just brightened up my whole day
21.01.2022 I love getting feedback from my clients like this So happy to help Sharon from Boho and Prosecco get FOUND!
20.01.2022 Girlboss Collab When fellow @fusionbizco copywriting powerhouse @littlepinktypewriter asked if I'd like to work with her on a project I was like 'hell yes!' We worked on this site for a local equipment hire company which is 100% JB's area of expertise but a whole new world for me.... It was also great to be able to bring on @simoneharrisphotography to shoot some pics of the equipment which was a MASSIVE change of pace for this super talented wedding tog, but #isolife has her a bit quiet at the mo, so why not take advantage? One of the best parts of what I do is getting to work with people I like, admire and respect - it's definitely a bonus. Can't wait to work with you guys on more projects See more
17.01.2022 For all the mums dealing with hyperactive kids today - pop the kettle on and eat one of their eggs
17.01.2022 Trina from Reimagine HR loves the website we created for her new business. Working with Trina was a dream as she was so clear in what she wanted. After being told by several other, larger web designers in Perth they couldn't create the design style she was after, Trina was so relieved when I told her we absolutely could build her a site that not only looked how she wanted but would be easy for people to find and easy for people to use. Thank you, Trina for your kind words

15.01.2022 It's my favourite day - it's new website day!!!! Thank you to Michell & Ben from @byford_plumbing_and_gas for choosing me to help with your website for your BRAND NEW BUSINESS The most important thing we worked on was making it easy for clients to call ... Everywhere you see the phone number on the website, you should be able to click it and call. 11.01.2022 I FINALLY have professional images It's only taken me 18 months to get over the fear that was stopping me - but I did it! Thank you Linda, from @fernanddandy for making me laugh and helping me get my branding sorted. ... This was a massive step for me and I'm still soooo so critical of what I see, but I'm choosing to focus on the fact I turned up and did the thing and feel fucking proud instead of getting caught up in the negative self-talk. Can't wait to bore the crap outta y'all with my damn self over the next few months @ Fremantle, Western Australia See more
11.01.2022 One thing I know - we can't do it all! We can try but it generally turns out shit... Can I get an amen? I found this to be especially true for my clients when it comes to setting up all the "technical stuff" For so many copywriters, PR specialists and content creators - they know their shit. 10.01.2022 LEGIT - I love me some good keyword planning Seriously, it's like diving down a rabbit hole once you start. So why do we need to plan our keywords? ... Oh boy, grab yourself a comfy chair and gather round, cause this is some of the most important work you can do on your website. Keywords are EVERYTHING in SEO. But randomly stuffing keywords into your website is useless if you don't have a plan. And you got start backwards, from your user NOT from what you think you want to write about. Why? Because understanding your clients pain points, what they need and what they are physically typing in to Google (or Pinterest or YouTube, this works equally on those platforms) is what's gonna get your shit front and centre of your ideal clients eyeballs. So here's some homework Write down a list of all the problems your ideal client is facing. Not just vague shit, like time-poor, or overwhelmed, but really specific problems people have that YOU CAN HELP THEM OVERCOME. Now go onto Google and start typing in some of those questions and LOOK at what Google is suggesting in autocomplete (you know when you start typing best coffee and it comes up with best coffee near me, best coffee in Perth, best coffee to drown the pain of existence). Now look at the top three results - what do they have in common? Click on the results and look at the headings, look at the subheadings and look at the actual copy. What you often find is they all have variations of the keywords/phrase in the heading, in the page title, often in the url slug (the bit after your domain name like yourdomain.com.au/free-keyword-tools), and in the subheadings, too. Now go back to the page you want to rank for that keyword and look at what you have. Can you make some improvements? Yep, well get on it my friend! Let me know if you've got questions below and I'll answer them for you Gilly #womeninsmallbiz #entrepreneurlife #perthbossbabe #perthmumsinbusiness #womeninbusiness #perth #perthwomeninbiz #perthcreatives #perthgirlbosses #digitalmarketing #womeninsmallbusiness #perthbizmums #perthbizbabes #businesstips #seotips #perthgirlboss #perthbloggers #perthsmallbusinessowners #bossbabe #
10.01.2022 I'm really not the 'word-of-the-year' type but this year has got me thinking differently. And that's because I chose a word that would help me think differently - and that word is: ... I have committed this year to challenging everything I think. Every perception, every thought pattern, every judgement (of myself and others) I am committed to challenging. Now, I have some pretty strong opinions. No doubt about it. But I know that to live the kind of life I want to live and run the kind of business I want to run I need to mix shit up and challenge every belief, every self limiting thought and every preconcieved idea I have about what 'success' looks like to achieve some pretty fucking ambitious goals I have stirring up inside of me. And these goals are BIG. If you've noticed a change in energy from me in the past few weeks (as a few of you have mentioned to me in DMs and in person) then know this comes from wanting to challenge my existing mindset of what I can do, what people are actually interested in learning (huge mindfuck for me) and what I need to do to make the difference in peoples lives that I really want to make. And it's scary AF. But there are words from some very wise women in my circle running through my head and what I might have originally dismissed as woo bullshit - I'm finding there's some strong science behind working on my mindset. I want to thank these women and their wise words for helping me get to a point where I can start to challenge the thoughts running through my head and start levelling up this year. @samanthadhu @cha_higginson @ashmatkovic @ameetriscari @itsdianatodd #StartUp #DigitalMarketing #Mindset #OnlineBusiness #BusinessStrategy #Mentor #BossBabe #GirlBoss #PersonalDevelopment #BusinessMindset #FemaleEntrepreneur #SuccessMindset #BusinessConsultant #WomenSupportingWomen #SmallBusinessOwner #EntrepreneurLifestyle #BusinessGoals #MillionaireMindset #BusinessDevelopment #WorkFromHome #GrowYourBusiness #PerthGirlBosses #PerthGirlsBosses #Melbourne #Sydney #Brisbane #9ToThrive #LaptopLifestyle
10.01.2022 Want a quick way to tell if you're running a business or have an expensive hobby? How do you feel about doing stuff for FREE? Cause if you keep working for free - you're not valuing your time and you'll end up resenting the fuck out of what you do - and ain't nobody wants to feel that way ... You have a unique skill or ability and people WILL pay you for it, but not if you don't value your own time. So, if you've been a soft touch (hello, guilty ) then it's time to start setting boundaries and valuing your time and your talents. Too many women worry about being seen as a 'bitch' (oh, that dreaded word - but that's a post for another day) and take on too much when deep down you're screaming at yourself for not being firmer with the people around you. Here are four prompts to help you have a firm, but respectful, conversations with clients - and the occasional friend or family member who should know better (not my own, but I don't know the original source to credit): 'Thank you for thinking of me, this sounds like a great fit. Can I check if this a ?' 'This sounds like an interesting project! Here's a link to the . I think xxx would be the best fit' or '...here's a copy of my media kit, which includes my rate card.' 'Thank you for considering me for this. Unfortunately, I'm unable to take on any at the moment, but if that changes in the future I'd love to get back in touch.' 'Thanks for your enquiry. Out of I'm unable to give detailed advice via DM's, but here's where you can book a consultation and I have a wealth of free resources at (insert website links).' I'd love to hear how you've dealt with this in the past - or have you been too much of a 'people pleaser' to say no? Gilly
09.01.2022 Want to know the one thing ALL of my clients say to me? "I spend so much time on social media - it's so overwhelming " Well yeah, without a plan it sure as hell can be.... Pretty much everyone I work with wants to achieve one thing, more traffic to their site with less effort. I mean, who doesn't, right? So how do we achieve this? Getting clear with the basics is step one - yawn, you've heard it all before - but I can't help you if you don't know who you're talking to and what you're trying to tell them. Hint - everyone and buy my shit are not answers to the above. Once you know who you're talking to and what you want to say, social media, writing blogs and SEO become a WHOLE LOT EASIER SEO is a fantastic way to get more people to your site without having to post everyday, update your stories, create new content, engage interact and sometimes feel like you're banging your head against a wall. This doesn't mean you get to ditch social media - FB and Insta are fantastic for building and maintaining a community- but how much reward are you getting for your TIME? A quick look at most of my clients analytics shocks them how little traffic they get from socials. I use Insta and I get business from posting and engaging but it's not everything and I get far less return for my TIME spent than I get from SEO. So think about it - how do you want to spend your time? See more

05.01.2022 This is my happy place - when I can help someone.@sarahmoorewellness contacted me when her website was 'doing weird things'. All her formatting was wrong and her updates weren't saving I had a 98% guess it was her plugins not being up-to-date. 04.01.2022 Have you tried the FREE Ubersuggest's tool, yet? I have and I love it! Why? It's a fantastic tool to help you analyse your sites current performance and help you identify room for improvement. ... Run your site through it and let me know what you find!
04.01.2022 FAIL TO PLAN - PLAN TO FAIL Harsh, but totally true when it comes to most things in life - and your website is no exception. The top feedback I get from my clients when I build their sites - and from users too - is how easy it is to find the right information quickly on a website. ... This isn't a fluke - it's planning. And guess what? It's not just users who like a good structure, Google goes all frothy for a good menu structure, too. So what makes a menu structure easy to navigate? 1 Don't get too cute when you're naming your menu items. Keep it simple. Sure 'musings' might seem really cool and whimsical, but most people are just looking for your blog. 2 Menus have an order for a reason. Imagine going into a supermarket and NOTHING is where you think it might be. We're conditioned to expect things in a certain order, even if some shops change it up a wee bit, most supermarkets have a similar structure. And there's a logic behind it - to make you buy more. Your top menu structure is the same. For some businesses it might be home, services, about, blog and contact with a dropdown menu of your service options. If you only have one or two main services, can you list them all on your top menu? Home, service 1, service 2, service 3, about, blog, contact. Listing all of your services in the top menu can really help your users find what they're looking for. 3 Do you have a quick link guide at the bottom of your page? Getting this right can make a HUGE difference to your users experience. So, double check your menu structure and ask yourself is it easy for your users to find the right information quickly without having to click through more than three pages on your site. Gilly x
03.01.2022 Ever face a customer ojection and stop in your tracks like - okay, now what? You've done everything - you've identified a need, you've created a service but people still have doubts and it's stopping them from taking action. Often when we're faced with objections, it's because the client doesn't yet understand how working with you or from buying your product will change their life. ... One of the techniques you can use to help them imagine what it's like to be your customer is the - - . The what, now? This technique is all about empathy and connecting with our clients by using the example of someone else who has felt the same way before dealing with you. Here's an example: Yes, I understand you product x is too expensive - other clients that way before sigining up/purchasing, but what they've is they've made the money back 10 fold by being able to streamline their business. Here's the breakdown FEEL - it's important to show empathy and validate experience. Without this step, the rest can feel pushy as though you have dismissed the original claim. People want to feel heard and reiterating the original concern helps you tell your client you understand them and you're listening. FELT - we all love social proof. We are hard wired to make decisions inline with our peers. Reviews and testimonials all play a part of helping future clients connect with us because, well it's not US saying it. Letting a client know they're not the first to feel this way is also another way of validating their concerns. FOUND - this step can EASILY be screwed up, so pay attention. Simply telling somone other people didn't find it expensive/time consuming etc isn't enough. In fact, that could make someone feel worse. You need to give a example of how buying your product or service made someone's life better/easier/happier. People don't care about you, or your products 'features' they care about how it can help their lives. Now what? I want you to give me your most common heard objection and an example of how you could use this technique. Gilly x
03.01.2022 Let's talk 404's - what's a 404? It's the page you get if you type in a web address that doesn't exist Deleting a page from your website does not delete it from Google. If the link is out there - maybe in someone elses blog, still showing on search results, or maybe on Pinterest or Twitter, when someone clicks on that link they will get a 404 - page not found - error. Being on top of your redirects is important but it's also a good idea to have a custom 404 page ...set up. I love this custom 404 page. 404 pages are a great place to inject a little bit of humour into your website and make you and your business a little more relatable. It's also a chance to help direct your customers. If you're an ecommerce site make sure you've got a button that takes your customers back to your shop page or maybe your top three category pages. Have you seen an awesome 404 page? I'd love to know. Drop a comment below if you've got a favourite See more
