25.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 7 student Alice B who has been selected by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Women in Motorsport Commission as Austral...ia’s representative in the FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars Program. This is an innovative new project to discover and nurture future female racing talent. Alice is one of 20 drivers worldwide who will join in the program which begins with a ‘shootout’ at Circuit Paul Ricard in France. From there, 12 drivers will be selected to undergo two different karting and Formula 4 focused training camps later this year. The field will then be narrowed to just four drivers selected to attend a one-week course at the Ferrari Driver Academy in November. Out of the final four, the best driver may then be invited to join the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) program, with a seat potentially on offer in the FIA Formula 4 season in 2021. Well done Alice, we know you will represent yourself, your family, LORDS and indeed Australia brilliantly! See more

02.01.2022 Senior Visual Arts and Visual Arts in Practice students had the privilege to attend a workshop today with one of Australia’s most significant photographic artis...ts, Marian Drew. The workshop focused on both digital and analogue photography, with a particular emphasis on the foundations of photography. In this hands-on workshop, students were introduced to photography, drawing, painting and printmaking techniques all rolled into one. This involved creating chemigrams using Marian’s light ‘painting’ technique, and explored creating artworks with photogram techniques. These type of techniques helps students to think about how their bodies contribute to an artwork as opposed to only using their heads. Marian Drew lives in Brisbane Australia, and is currently Adjunct Associate Professor at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University and PhD candidate at the Canberra School of Art and Design, Australian National University. Before this, Marian spent 30 years teaching her love of photography to students at the Queensland College of Art, as well as conducting solo exhibitions and group shows throughout the world.
