18.01.2022 Whilst enjoying extended stays in New York I would often visit Flea Markets. One find was a complete collection of 40-50’s vintage paper dolls with tabbed costume cut-outs. This is one of my large paper doll oil paintings ‘Boy No.4’ recently sold by Mark Denver Antiques and Vintage in Fitzroy. Mark mentioned the buyer lives in New York so this painting is heading back there. Co-incidence?! 10.01.2022 Forman Art and Framing in Burwood did it again! Kara’s enthusiasm for art, including mine, is much appreciated. She framed my substantial sized 3 paintings in her famous oak float frame, grouped them in her expansive showroom display and voila, all sold today to one buyer. Thank you to the buyer (heading to a beach house on the Peninsula I believe)and the inimitable Kara. Lovely! My ‘white shirt’ still-lives have been a wonderfully successful theme. 06.01.2022 A long time ago (pre iPhones and Covid) in a far off land (France) I took a photo through a window of an Antique shop in the Marais, Paris. I’ve lost the image but this is my version from what I remember. Seeing so many full bodied roses in bloom in South Yarra streets was also inspirational.
