Following a career in basketball, Joel became one of the original Spinning instructors and has been teaching cycle for almost 30 years. His career has spanned the globe, owning and managing health clubs from Los Angeles to New York where he trained many high-profile celebrities and professional athletes for film and television roles or for upcoming... basketball seasons. This opened many doors and led to Joel writing featured articles for Women’s Health, Men’s Fitness, LA/NY Times, Cycling and Australian Institute of Sport. He was then exposed to television roles on HBO, VH1, A&E and Fit TV as a fitness correspondent and health expert. In 2006, Joel moved with his family to Sydney and gave up his professional career to be a stay at home father, the biggest and most rewarding role throughout his entire career. 09.01.2022 Beautiful words from our very own @laillasena TRUST YOUR INTUITION . How many times have you had that strong feeling that you should do something that was completely unlogical or unreasonable? Maybe you decided to ignore it, only to find out, a couple of days later, that feeling was trying to lead you towards the best path for you?... . That's your INTUITION! . The 6th sense. Your knowing. Something that doesn't get taught at school, and unless you are very blessed doesn't come as part of what your parents taught you growing up neither. You can't learn it from reading books or try to mentally understand it. It is not fear, it is not what tries to hold you back from doing things. It is a calm, relaxed, certain knowing. It is something that if we want to connect deeper with, we must practice it.. . In my own experience, I noticed there are a few practices that support my intuition or gut feeling to get stronger: . 1. To quiet my mind - To put aside, at least once a day, time to meditate or to be in silence allows me to more easily differentiate the mind chatter from my intuition. . 2. To cultivate a healthy lifestyle- I notice when I eat healthy foods, and I have a movement practice in place it is easier to connect with my body's wisdom. When all energies in the body are flowing with ease there will be fewer blockages between me and my truth. . 3. To take notice - Whenever I get that "intuition feeling" coming up (independent of me choosing to follow it or not) I take notice. Later on, I can come back to that moment in time and check if that feeling was guiding me towards something better or not. And guess what, almost 100% of the time, I will gain clarity that my gut feeling was right. . 4. To trust it - The more I practice fully trusting my intuition and taking action, the stronger it becomes. Easy as that! . Now, Im curious to know... Do you trust your intuition? With 20 years of experience in marketing and management, Carey has a vision that will take Luxe into a new realm.... She has experienced first-hand the impact that Luxe can have on your physical, mental, and emotional health. It has been a home away from home that has given her energy through fitness, clarity on major decisions, and lots of new friends. Fi on the right is our other new owner who found Luxe two years ago when she moved to the Northern Beaches. She has loved the vibe, the mix of classes, and most importantly the community feel. Originally from the UK, Fi has worked in the fitness and health industry for many years in various sales and management roles. She is excited to be part of our welcoming family. Youll already know Sammy in the middle as the energetic ride teacher who has been obsessed with the rave cave for the past two years. Sammy is thrilled to join Luxe as the new Sales and Marketing Manager after spending nine years working across marketing, publishing, and management roles in the travel industry.
