22.01.2022 An unexpected silver lining of COVID is that we have become a back up honeymoon destination for lots of lovely South Australian couples, they have been booking in house spa treatments, ordering food and drink and having a brilliant time. 16.01.2022 At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. ANZAC Day is always a poignant day for our family as we remember my great grandfather who was killed in France in WW1, without ever meeting his baby son. It’s also BUSY on the farm as ANZAC day also usually coincides with the opening rains, much needed to hydrate our bushfire affected soils (and souls!) ... As we are all bunkering down in #iso there are no guests to spoil (yet) so Adam has me ferrying seed to the paddock, shifting our pregnant ewes to better feed and tomorrow I have been promised a day as the chief tractor driver (hello audio book!) I hope you have all had a nice day of reflection and golden syrup infused biscuits. 05.01.2022 Thanks to the January bushfires most of the bushland surrounding us burned. We were so worried it would ruin a part of the guest experience. It turned out to be a non issue - our guests have been really supportive and due to the depth and expanse of the views get a true appreciation of how close it came.
