20.01.2022 Female Empowerment in the fitness space used to mean that I was an ambassador of the TRUTH. To empower Women with their Health & Fitness by sharing the TRUTH with them and cutting through the utter BS that swamps this space. However, if this year has taught me anything at all, it is humility in the face of the TRUTH. Because no-one owns the TRUTH - not the scientists or the politicians or the influencers or even our friends and family. They own their version, not yours. I'm... beginning to realise that the best way I can offer female empowerment in this space is to help guide you to ask better questions when a 'fitness expert' or 'nutritional expert' offers their TRUTH to you rather than accepting what they say as gospel. Or worse, feeling that you have failed because their way didn't work for you and your body. And to also help you ask bolder, deeper questions of yourself too and to get better at listening to your own answers (we often don't want to face our own truth when it comes to our relationship with say, alcohol or certain foods or even how we over or under train our bodies etc). As cliche as it is, ultimately, the answers you seek are within you. I believe we can all be better humans by asking better questions of ourselves and each other.
20.01.2022 With gyms closed and training routines disrupted for many we find ourselves a little lost. Gyms/yoga studios/dance halls I believe are places that allow certain fundamental human rituals to take place, they are spaces that allow you to openly process your emotions. They are literally temples to many who go there - they provide practical relief, release, worship, acceptance, community, love, support, guidance etc. Without them we are lost. ... How do we function in a healthy way without them? That’s a bigger question with answers that far extend this FB post. But can I humbly recommend picking up a rock and letting rip - I guarantee you’ll get an endorphin hit after doing this. Sending love today to all who need it
19.01.2022 One year ago. "Whispers of the Wild - a weekend for Women" had drawn to a close. Looking back on that amazing 48hours with these epic humans has me full of all the feels today.... I created and birthed this event from intuition, trust and a huge leap of faith. I am now being called to hold that same trusting/faith space for the postponed April Event. However, I now realise that it was never meant to be held then. It is, and always was, meant to be run in 2021. I can already feel the energy building. The potency and need for this unique Womens event is building more and more every day. "Trust those Whispers. Be willing to have faith and invest in those little signals that are so faint and yet potentially life altering and meaningful" - RICH ROLL.
18.01.2022 Building strength is boring......but necessary. There I said it. Stop chasing fast and furious exercise to satiate a desire for instant gratification - that ‘feeling / buzz / high’ and start doing the work you really need to do to build foundational strength and bulletproof your body as you age.... At the same time, start being honest with yourself - why are you doing the exercise you are? If it’s to ‘lose weight’ you are on the wrong path - more to come on that
17.01.2022 Things highly-qualified humans have told me about periods. Periods should never be painful AND Painful periods are normal ... Normal cycles can vary from 21-35 days AND 28 day cycles are always optimal You shouldn’t lift weights when you bleed AND Period Power is a great time to lift weights Cravings are to do with hormone fluctuations & very normal AND YET If you experience cravings then it’s a sign of an imbalance & this needs to be corrected. Cravings are a bad sign. Periods are your monthly report card you should document everything about your cycle, mood, energy etc. BUT Periods are complicated & only a professional can assess their nuances accurately. Training around your cycle is important even if you are on the pill. All your training should be adapted to where you are in your cycle regardless of how you feel. BUT ALSO Training around your cycle is important but not if you are on the pill & certainly not unless you already have optimal health. It’s a high calibre style of training adaption not relevant to most women. Never wear menstrual cups or tampons - period blood needs to flow & plays a crucial part of your vaginal microbiome. AND Menstrual cups are much better than period pants, pads or tampons for you and the environment. AND THE LIST GOES ON, AND ON. So what is the truth? Well, all of the above is based in some sort of science and all of it could be considered fact. The thing is we need to stop trying to figure out WHO is right and start trying to find out WHAT is right for YOU.

15.01.2022 Just do what feels good Mid walk I felt ‘off’ so I stopped and switched up my movement to open up my body. The more I practice listening to what my body needs the easier movement becomes. ... It’s just a skill. Anyone can do it. Give yourself permission to have a go at this - mid walk, mid washing your the dishes, mid hanging out the washing, mid whenever!

05.01.2022 What if I told your health goals are currently aligned with the moon? The more I weave the natural world with my work the more sense it makes. Currently we have a New Moon. In the sign of Virgo.... You can read all sorts about what this 'means' but lets keep it simple and look at it energetically. It's a good time to align our physical endeavours with our internal ones. Internal refers to your mental, emotional or spiritual health - call it any or all of those, it doesn't matter. This is a perfect time to work with that mind-body connection and take personal responsibility for both. It is a time to stop looking out at the World and start looking inward. Time to disconnect from the external overwhelm and focus on self. What are the little (think small) things that can give YOU more physical and mental balance right now? My online Training crew are doing a 14 day focus challenge to create a more balanced harmony with their goals and their daily actions. Want to drink more water? Start your day, everyday, for 14 days by drinking a big glass of water. It's really as small and as simple as that. Ultimately, we are all responsible for creating a state of being that works for us and honours our body & soul. We can't do that if you constantly look outwardly and blaming the World for where we are. Remember the wise proverb "From little acorns mighty Oaks grow" Improve the state of you being by taking care of the little things. 03.01.2022 How much medicine are you taking at the mo? I certainly miss a hit of vitamin nature - I mean that deep, immersive nature far away from the world and it’s woe BUT trying to consume other ‘medicines’ in the meantime.
