25.01.2022 You would think that what I do and my deep belief that my mother (who also believed) would just appear before me for a chat. But no. Like tonight- I have been out all day - sitting to watch the footy - and in she comes! Up you get, got those leeks and mushrooms in the fridge, use them or lose them!. Next thing, contrary to my plan and desire, I am in the kitchen slicing leeks! Next - you have less the. 1/4 cabbage, left over bacon pieces - get them! Then I find myself g...rabbing chives, spinach and other bits and pieces. The mixture now, surprisingly looking and smelling awesome, I need to decide what to do with it. No, actually I dont. Mum says, well divide it to two dishes, one pie, and the rest in a mornay with a cream/cheese topping. And so I follow instructions- knowing I had no plan so I am following her instructions! So job done, she has now left and I can watch the second half of the football in peace! Keeping in mind my mother was an awesome cook who never wasted food, could create delicious food from whatever she had,it makes sense. I know so many of you have been led and guided by your ancestors and loved ones, both in practical terms like tonight, or for emotional strength and understanding. We just dont always recognise it. Luckily, I always recognise when Mum comes to motivate and help!!! See more
