24.01.2022 Ok Hobart (and Southern Tassie). We are looking for volunteers to help our neighbours in Victoria! We have 400 masks to make we - can do it Hobart! Frangipa...ni Fabrics will be offering FREE classes starting next Tuesday 4 and 11th (1:00-2:30pm) and Wednesday 5 and 12th (9-10:30am) for volunteers to make face mask as part of the Tassie Face Mask Project. These masks will be donated to vulnerable people in Victoria who desperately need washable masks. We are seeking sewists (not complete beginners please) to make 10 masks each (you are welcome to make more) which sounds like a lot but they are pre-cut and ready to go! We will give you 10 kits to make donated by The Tassie Face Mask Project and you need to be able to commit to sewing them and bringing them back into the store within 2 weeks. You will also receive the pattern to make the masks to take home, and tea and coffee in our gorgeous sunny sewing room. Please call us on 62240244 or DM us here to book your spot. Saturday classes and a You Tube tutorial to come... P.S. We are also the Southern depot for any spare cotton or polycotton fabrics you are able to donate to the project. Yes! You can sew 10 masks without attending the class if you would like to. Thanks so much! Team Frangipani.

12.01.2022 Australia’s 3.5 million small businesses are the first to help a footy club sausage sizzle, contribute towards new netball courts, or help a local Rotary drive.... But COVID is changing that, and with so many businesses shutting their doors for the last time, we need to do our bit now by #goinglocalfirst to save local jobs, local economies and local communities. www.golocalfirst.com.au
