25.01.2022 This project is one that’s very close to our hearts as this is our brother Tyler (3rd pic) working his magic. LWD were lucky enough to help complete the new design for the shop fit-out. The shop, previously ravaged by fire, is coming to life again. So if you find yourselves in Hobart and looking for some out-of-this-world coffee, Pilgrim is your destination.

The team at Lachlan Walsh Design provide a full service from designing your proposed development, completing drawings, organising sub consultancy (e.i. structural engineers, bush fire assessor etc.) submitting documents for permits (Planning, Plumbing & Building Permits), interior design and organising of builders quotes. Don't forget to send through any questions you might have so we can answer them for you!

23.01.2022 This Town House was designed to offer a low maintenance and contemporary home, with street appeal. The design is light filled and open, with a focus on entertaining within a smaller design. The landscaping and timber fencing define the block and bring cohesion to the site. NAK Building Group will be the builders on this project!

22.01.2022 The brief for this project was to create a light, elegant, beach-influenced home. To achieve this, we took cues from the 1970s modernist style of horizontal lines and creativity in window sizing and placement. We incorporated washed-out bricks and light timber finishes to create a 'coastal retreat' feel and it’s brought together with a contrast of black flashings and window framings.

14.01.2022 You might recognise this building in Devonport! We were so excited to get to work on the brand new Physiotas building which was completed back in 2018. They had outgrown their previous space and needed more room to move with the new building including more consult rooms, a larger waiting space and upgraded gym facilities!

04.01.2022 Did you catch our last Frequently Asked Question? If you have anything you'd love to ask us please let us know! This next question is also a popular one. Will you need to contact the council in relation to your extension or renovation? The short answer is yes. With any new construction you will need approach the local council planning department to see if the proposed construction is complying to the local councils planning scheme. There is a lot of rules and guidelines set out in the council planning scheme from boundary setbacks, max building heights, privacy between neighbour to overshadowing to a neighbouring property. A building designer/architect can help with deciphering this information and finding out what is relevant for your proposed extension.

We can find builders that would be suited for your project and also help obtain quotes from them. We recommend to obtain 3 to 4 quotes, this allows a good range of comparison but also provides fair competition to the builders for the chance to be awarded the project.
