24.01.2022 Sometimes when we feel like we have the weight of the world on our shoulders, its good to remember how big and diverse the world is and all of a sudden our problems don't seem so big after all.

22.01.2022 We all need somewhere to go to escape when times get tough. Just somewhere to recharge, even if it's just for a few moments. It could be your favorite cafe, your bed or out in nature. My place is the beach. Rain hail or shine you can find me there. If the sea is choppy, I'm reminded that there will come a day when it is calm. It reminds me that even if there's a storm happening in my life, a day will come when I find peace again. Somedays it just helps recharge my batteries. I always know that a trip to the beach will be worth the time for my wellbeing. I hope your place provides this kind of comfort too.

20.01.2022 Its been a long time since I posted anything here but I thought this could sum up my life for the past year. Life isn't always easy but the more determination you have to make a dream come true the more likely it is to happen.

20.01.2022 Do you ever feel so completely drained that you just couldn't do one more thing? You start snapping at the people around you and keep complaining you are tired? This can often be a result of not being able to say no to people and taking on way too much. This is a common trait in "people pleasers" who tend to agree to everything people put in front of them even when they know they have other more pressing things to attend to. They then get frustrated with themselves and ot...her people just because they have a hard time putting boundaries in place. Boundaries are so important for us because not only do they help us lead an authentic and productive life, they also allow others to respect us. If we constantly are saying yes to things then it will just become assumed that you will always do it and run the risk of being taken for granted. Like when you offered to pick that colleague up on the way to work because they were having car trouble. Now they haven't gotten their car fixed and you have to go out of your way every morning to drive them to work. You start resenting the situation but you feel powerless because you are so busy trying to please others. By saying no from the beginning, this can help foster relationships and help you maintain your sanity. One way to establish whether to do something is to remember a quote I recently heard on a podcast - "If its not a heck yes, then its a no!". These are words to live by. For a great book on this topic turn to "Boundaries" by Dr Henry Cloud and Dr John Townsend (see http://www.boundariesbooks.com/). Now go and live a life worth living! See more

17.01.2022 Do you ever wake up in the morning with so much to do that you want to just roll over and go back to sleep? You reach for your smartphone and check your email, texts and Facebook to see what you missed during the few hours you were asleep. You're already stressed and the day has barely begun. How can you avoid this trap that is so easy to fall into? Creating a morning ritual that focuses on getting you ready for the day can help to take you out of your head for a few mome...nts and focus on the real important things in life. Spend your first precious 30 minutes preparing for the day ahead. This could be getting a cup of tea and reading your bible and spending a few minutes in prayer. Or practice some deep breathing and as you breath in think about breathing in love and breathing out all the negativity you are feeling. And don't forget gratitude. Focus on three things that you are thankful for. It could be as simple as thinking of a beautiful sunrise, or a smile from a loved one, but whatever it is it should evoke some happiness. Feel the real emotions surrounding these things so that you feel the love and hope to carry through your day. By doing something as simple as creating a morning ritual, you will be amazed at how focussed and productive the rest of your day can be! See more

15.01.2022 It's finally 2015 and from reading Facebook posts I can see a mixed reaction to how people felt 2014 went. Some say they were fully blessed while others point out how bad 2014 was for them. But the number one thing everyone seems to have for 2015 is hope. Hope for greater, bigger and better. There is something about the new year that creates a clean slate and we get to start again. But I think it's important to remember everyday is a new day and although a new year is a ...milestone, we don't need to wait until then to create change in our lives. Change happens everyday whether we choose it or not and isn't it better to be intentional about how we live everyday? So if you have waited until now to make resolutions, remember if you don't obtain them today, don't give up. The one thing you can count on is the at the sun will rise in the morning and each day is a chance to live a better life. Keep moving forward and live everyday in hope that life will get better. 13.01.2022 This article and beautiful pictures can help remind us that our life is made up of seasons. We may be standing in the midst of a season that feels like it will never end and we have no control. Sometimes the seasons are dark and gloomy whilst others are full of sunshine. And sometimes you'll just glimpse enough light through a dark cloud to realise the hope of the new season that will soon be upon you. You can always remember that this too shall pass.

02.01.2022 If you're not feeling great today then go and do something for someone who needs help. Could be as simple as helping someone with directions who looks lost. Or give blood. Or bake a cake and take it over to your neighbour you've never met. Whatever it is I can guarantee it will help you feel better knowing you've made someone else's day
