25.01.2022 ONLY 3 WEEKS UNTIL OUR 20/21 SEASON STARTS Dont forget your current membership expires as at 30th September so you still have plenty of time to register. This season will be different from all other seasons you have known with COVID19 restrictions. We are working hard in the background mapping out the guide lines but below are just a few we all need to do to make everyone safe.... Before you enter the pool area there will be a table out the front with hand sanitiser and a sign in sheet. We all need to sign in prior to entering the pool area and when you leave to sign out. We have to keep this information on file for around 56 days. Please bring your own chairs or a picnic blanket, this will save us a lot of time with cleaning. As you can imagine we are trying to keep the cleaning down to the main areas so we have made the decision no chairs will come out (please understand we want to spend our time volunteering to help run the racing night not cleaning all night ) You must sit in your own family group and stay the 1.5 mtr distance. We are lucky we have a large pool area. You can sign up for race events during the week and from 5:30pm Fridays. We are trying to avoid everyone gathering to sign in on a Friday night. If it helps you can send a message through to our FB page or pre-register during the week at training. Food will be pre-ordered and you can do this from around 5:45pm so we dont have a gathering around the canteen. We will have a sign up for what is on the menu for that night and please only 1 adult to order and pay. This is the first round of information with more to come. Please be patient with us as we work around all the COVID19 restrictions & rules. We cant wait to see everyone again Your 20/21 committee

22.01.2022 Maddie, Blake, Chloe & Mia had a great time at Acacia Bayside LC IM Champ Development Meet. 11.01.2022 Earlier this afternoon, the Queensland Premier announced some further easing of restrictions for Stage 5 of the Roadmap. From 4PM, Tuesday 17 November, there ar...e a number of changes in effect. What do these Stage 5 changes mean for Queensland’s Clubs/Regions? What we know is, those following an approved COVID Safe Plan or COVID Safe Checklist will be able to have one patron per 2 square metres (for both indoor and outdoor areas). You must ensure you continue to practice physical distancing and stay 1.5m away from the next patron, whenever possible. COVID Safe Industry Plans and the Industry Framework for COVID Safe Events continue to apply. Swimming Queensland will continue to work with the appropriate authorities and communicate any additional changes if/when they occur. Once the finer details of today’s announcement are investigated, all changes will be reflected in the documents and resources available on the COVID Advice to Clubs page of the website. If you have any questions, please email us. https://qld.swimming.org.au/news-arti/covid-19-advice-clubs

06.01.2022 Swimming Queensland wishes to advise that LC Preparation meet #1 which was set down for 10 and 11 October has been cancelled. The factors taken into account in... reaching this decision are: - Normally the Qld Short Course Championships are run in early August. Due to COVID, they were rescheduled to late September. - SQ LC Preparation #1 was scheduled to be 8 weeks after the Qld SC Championships normal date to assist coaches and athletes with their preparation for the December Qld Championships. - The meet was left in the calendar until now in case there were further COVID lockdowns imposed preventing the SC Championships taking place. Clubs and Regions will continue to conduct meets throughout October and November to prepare for the LC season.
06.01.2022 As we say goodbye to 2020 we wish you all a Happy New Year. Your strength and determination in over coming anything that 2020 had to throw at you all was truly inspirational. Stay focused and set your goals for 2021 and see you all back in the pool soon for term 1 2021

04.01.2022 You may have received an email from Swimming Queensland that the new season fees are ready in Swim Central. Your current fees are valid until the 30th September 2020. The new committee has kept the fees as close as possible to last years fees as we believe with the strain of COVID19 on families at the moment we want to see as many families to come back to swimming. I have attached the "How do i purchased a membership product" that Swim Central has released to make if easier a...nd it looks a lot more user friendly this year than last year. This is also a great time to update all your family information in Swim Central, from address & contact information to checking that your childrens date of birth are also correct. I will update you more on the current season soon but just wanted to let everyone know that you can access your new membership through Swim Central as you have a few weeks to get ready. I will put another post up for any of our members that have FairPlay vouchers and how to apply them to your membership in Swim Central. Please feel free to contact me if you are having any problems and we can work through them together. Sorry for the long winded post Julie Bobermien Race Register Race Secretary

01.01.2022 There have been some emergent changes communicated by the Queensland Government as at 8:00am Saturday, 22 August 2020 with some resultant measures implemented i...n the following areas: - Brisbane - Ipswich - Logan - Scenic rim - Lockyer Valley - Moreton Bay - Redlands Swimming Queensland are aware of these changes and the relevant directives. We will continue to monitor the situation, however as at today there are no directives that affect the upcoming meets or development activities proceeding in accordance with the Swimming Pool & Aquatic Centre Industry COVID Safe Plan. From 8:00am, 22 August, any business or organisation, including community sporting activities and events, operating in accordance with their relevant Industry COVID Safe Plan, are safe to proceed, ensuring the plan is enacted. This means all attendees playing their part in adhering to the physical distancing, hygiene and contact tracing measures in place. For social gatherings either within homes or public spaces, these are restricted to a maximum group size of 10 people. Outside of this, where possible, members of the general public should limit outings and have a quiet weekend at home. If you are experiencing any COVID or flu-like symptoms at all, it is important you get tested immediately. Once again, a great reminder of the shared responsibility we have in keeping ourselves, our loved ones and the greater community safe in following all measures in place and in particular physical distancing and personal hygiene.
