We have raced hard with a few results coming our way and I could not think of a better group of guys to do it with. Even though the Gold medal eluded me over the weekend, I can be happy with a 3rd in the Time Trial and 2nd in the Road Race in what was some of the most testing conditions that I have ridden in over the past few years. 15.01.2022 @cyclingaustralia @feduniaustralia #roadnats done for 2020. Another brutal addition saw a break form after 1.5hrs of racing. I attacked spontaneously at the start of Lap 8 with my partner in crime @just_another_nickwhite. The attack resulted in me ending up in no man's land, 50s to the break and 1m20s ahead of the peloton. After making inroads into the gap thanks to the incredible support of everyone on the climb and around the course, a mushroom cloud was left on Mt Bunninyo...ng. So much time and preparation goes into this one day a year and 2020s edition was no exception and I enjoyed every bit of time being out there. A big shout out goes to all the sponsors that make it happen. Also a special mention goes to @jenmaree25 and dad, coach @_pat_shaw_ , @tim.purcell, @just_another_nickwhite @locandro and @jesse._.norton turning up day after day, pushing each other to the limits in preparation. 04.01.2022 Sitting around the table and discussing 2019 has resulted in success both on and off the bike. I have once again travelled to many parts of the world racing my bike, met many new people and most of all graduated from @feduniaustralia with my Bachelor of Exercise and sport. Unfortunately 2019 also marks the end to @drapaccycling. They have been my home for the past 5 seasons and it will be sad to no longer see them in the sport. I would just like to say a big thankyou to @vasp...rime and the team at drapac for offering a program that supports success both on and off the bike, not forgetting the one and only, Michael Drapac, whose vision allowed it all to happen. Chapeau!! As the door of 2019 closes, the door of 2020 opens. In the coming year I am looking forward to racing in the #GREENTEAM of @oliversracing which all kicks off at @cyclingaustralia Road Nationals next week.
