20.01.2022 Made 2/3 attempts on deads with 172.5kg. Just need to stop being a shitcunt on the day and break the ground stronger. Deads actually went back by 2.5kg because I missed this easy weight the first time I took it. Ended up with a 460kg total at 65.75kg for a small 2.5kg total PB. First international comp done and lots to learn from it, so moving forward from here. Maybe one more comp at 66kg then cutting down to 59kg for all them Wilks lel. #powerlifting #ipf #powerliftingaustralia #oceanias #squat #benchpress #deadlift #strengthriseup #tangsworld #yangstrength

18.01.2022 Footage from my last comp in December!

15.01.2022 It's been a long and good year guys. Here is my yearly update complete with my usual unaesthetic #selfies. This was the year that I found powerlifting. It's become a sport which I have grown to love and I've met so many new people as a result of just competing. I competed for the first time in April weighing in at 71.20kg and totaling 435kg (C grade). Skip forward 8 months and I've competed a further 3 times including my first international competition, dropping my bodyweight... down to 65.75kg and increasing my total to 460kg (A grade). It's a small total increase for 8 months work but to actually gain strength while cutting weight, I'll take it as a win. This year I've also managed to successfully and slowly lose weight without doing any crash diets and still eating all the foods I love (sometimes after a late night gym sesh I have a kebab and chips to myself). Next year I plan on competing in the 59kg category so that will mean another slow cut come the new year. I'm confident that I can make the weight cut and still be the strongest that I can be seeing as when I first started lifting again I was weighing roughly 78kgs. Since last year I've lost 5kgs slowly and focused on lifting heavy weights which has raised my gym PBs to a 172.5kg squat (+22.5kg), 117.5kg bench (+12.5kg) and 180kg deadlift (+20kg). Now to bring it together and make it count on the platform. I'm excited for 2015 as I know it's going to be an even bigger year as we take the team that we have at Strength RiseUp and dominate. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey this year and has supported me in any way. Bring on the new year and stay safe guys :) Angus Banh Andrew Tang Tam Silva Phutthasone David Keomany Denise Gamboa Kerri-Anne Cauchi John Paul Cauchi Ben Poon Logan Patricia Poon Hai Nguyen Kenny Lay Andrew Christou Tim Karagiannis Sam Kehayias Russel Mancilla Perdio Alexandra Dam Jonathon Le Glenda Presutti Vince Powerone Mathyeww Skinner Dale Zeinheiger Culpin Cecilia Stella Nguyen Michael Nguyen Son Nguyen Stephen Pritchynov Raymond Wong Jak Tan Ken Nguyen John Tran Timothy John Tom Goulding Clayton WAlly Walton Cody Higgins Jesse Johnstone Wei Shi

10.01.2022 W7D4 Phone died so I couldn't record my squats the day before yesterday. Was meant to work up to 167.5kgx2x2 but couldn't even do the first set. Ended up doing one set of 160kgx2 to end my heavy squat sessions for the cycle. This was my last heavy bench session for the cycle and planned opener. Time to taper and recover for the upcoming comp. Regardless of how my lower body pulls up on comp day I'm going to give it all I got and leave nothing on the platform. Less than 5 days til Oceania's, #teamriseup gonna kill it! 04.01.2022 Weighed in at a very light 65.75kg for my first international meet, the Oceania Championships. Went 2/3 squats for an equal comp PB of 170kg, just missing 175kg. Squats were pretty pain free but the past few weeks of pain just meant I held back a little and misgrooved my last attempt. #powerlifting #ipf #powerliftingaustralia #oceanias #squat #benchpress #deadlift #strengthriseup #tangsworld #yangstrength
