24.01.2022 Dont be an Ugly Australian today. To the stupid youth brandishing your Aussie Flag Capes as you leave your abandoned mangled car on The Cove Road near Westcliff after you stupidly hit the roundabout and trashed your car. You are the disappointing selfish rubbish who have changed a day of celebration. With your drunk I dont give a toss attitude you fled the scene. You are cowards.... Dont be a tool. Dont be a danger to others and yourselves.

24.01.2022 Media and the public are advised that TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for 24 October 2019 in the following Fire Ban Districts: Northwest Pastoral - Severe We...st Coast - Severe Eastern Eyre Peninsula - Severe Lower Eyre Peninsula - Severe Flinders - Severe Mid North - Severe Mount Lofty Ranges - Severe Yorke Peninsula - Severe Kangaroo Island - Severe Lower South East - Severe Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. For further information contact the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or visit https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au See more

15.01.2022 Coastal Walkway Update Although there has been misreporting in the media and by certain individuals, I am pleased to announce that the majority of the coastal w...alkway is expected to be re-opened by February 2020. Engineers are systematically repairing the walkway following detailed structural investigation and assessment, which began in June. In July 2019 $1 million was allocated in the 2019/2020 Council budget towards repairs so that the boardwalk could be fully re-opened. Yes, fully re-opened! The current repairs could extend the life of the walkway by up to 10 years. Council has so far spent about $238,000 on repairs which have involved the installation of new timber bracing and inserting metal rods into existing footings to improve stability. Diversions will continue to be in place around Kurnabinna and Grey Road gully sections, while further investigations are undertaken prior to remedial works which should lead to these sections re-opening soon. All the repairs will be funded from Councils existing budget. Council has developed a Coastal Walkway Plan to completely rebuild the structures, which has an estimated $14.5 million cost over 15 years. This includes investigating design realignment and rebuilding Kurnabinna and Grey Road gullies and completing the walkway on either side of the Field River. In November Council endorsed a $4.8 million plan to initiate this plan. The walkway is a State wide attraction with an estimated 30,000 visitors a year (and rising). Council committed $2.44 million, and will seek matching funding from State or Federal governments to complete the necessary renewal work. I will continue to lobby for these additional funds as I believe that the whole cost should not be borne by City of Marion ratepayers. See more

06.01.2022 Welcome to Hallett Cove Beach. Or should that be Hallett Cove pebbles and rocks. Still cannot get my head around why the sand that has been accumulating at OSullivans Beach over the last 30 odd years is going to be trucked to Henley and not returned to its rightful place back on Hallett Cove Beach.... Doesnt seem right?

06.01.2022 Once again the southernmost suburb in the City of Marion gets chucked in the too hard/too expensive basket. (1.5 Million). Touted as one of the 10 best walking trails in Adelaide and a major attraction/drawcard to the area, you would think it in the best interests to replace/maintain this spectacular walk. Disappointing.... #abc891
