25.01.2022 Lockdown! These two rescues arrived yesterday, just in time to shelter in place with us . Stay safe and cosy everyone, and we will update our Easter opening hours on Thursday when we know more #lyelldeersanctuary #fallowdeer #brisbanelockdown #easter2021
25.01.2022 Deer wandering the streets of Leichhardt in Sydney! I told you deer are everywhere! Hopefully they won’t be euthanised @guardianaustralia https://www.theguardian.com//doe-two-deer-on-the-loose-in- #randomtuesdaynews #sydneydeer #deerinaustralia #iwishicouldhelpsomehow
24.01.2022 Don’t eat my dress, Little Fur! Look at his new antlers shooting up! Gorgeously soft, warm and sensitive at the moment, he loves them gently tickled . We are hoping for rain this weekend, so if it is wet, bring boots and rain dance with us! #weneedtherain #visitmoretonbayregion #lyelldeersanctuary #samfordvalley
24.01.2022 Our newest crazy kid, Moby, photobombing Joey . Moby is about 3 months old and was rescued from a sad situation by a lovely couple, who brought him to us so he can make friends and live a happy goat life. If you want to come and meet Moby this weekend (or cuddle any of our other gorgeous creatures) we will only be open Saturday. We are CLOSED ON SUNDAY (October 18) for a private function #notadeerbutOK #animalsanctuarylife #deerofinstagram #visitbrisbane #visitmoretonbayregion
23.01.2022 Happy Easter! It has turned out grey and rainy and snuggly today, but not the best weather to come out and cuddle deer! Enjoy your day and all your blessings #brisbaneeaster #visitmoretonbayregion #visitbrisbane
22.01.2022 We say #nuptothecup! Nup to animal cruelty and the glamourising of gambling, drinking and exploitation. YEP to kindness, abundance and love of life! Check this issue out further: https://www.abc.net.au//the-dark-side-of-the-hors/11614022 #noanimalcruelty #melbournecup2020 #visitmoretonbayregion
22.01.2022 Maxie pretending to eat lucerne like the big deer . We are open this weekend! The end of the Summer holidays #brisbanekids #visitmoretonbayregion #reddeer
19.01.2022 Today it is hard to believe the week of wild weather we have had - relentless pounding rain, rushing creek, mud up to your knees, and a massive tree falling and crushing a fence in the stag paddock, so some of the deer got out. I woke up to cheeky stag faces staring in my bedroom window . They are all safe back in the paddock now, plus we have lots of firewood ! Today was the first day we could open up to visitors without losing them in the mud, so the deer got lots of cu...ddles from some lovely kids from a vacation care program. Tomorrow we have another school group here. What about next week? We will definitely be open on Tuesday, but which other day would you like to visit us? Let me know below, or text or email, and I will announce it tomorrow #brisbaneschoolholidays #bestnonpayingjobever #visitmoretonbayregion #brisbaneanyday #australia #ilovedeer See more
18.01.2022 Oh my goodness . So gorgeous
17.01.2022 Well, that’s the end of Little Fur cuddles for the year . Look at those deadly spikes! He’s rubbed the velvet off and he’s now in the bottom paddock. At least we still have the babies for cuddles!
14.01.2022 Moby is settling in well . Don’t forget we will be closed tomorrow (October 18) for a private function. Open next weekend as usual #sanctuarylife #notadeerbutok #visitmoretonbayregion
14.01.2022 Apparently you aren’t allowed to come and cuddle me this weekend, so here’s a close-up of my sweet smooshy face to get you through the next few days! This is little Luka, who has been very unwell but is finally starting to feel like a normal baby deer again. We are part of Greater Brisbane so we are in lockdown until Monday night, at this point. Comment below if you’d like a photo or video of any of your other favourite animals over the weekend, and I’ll get my kids to document their adventures for you! #animalsanctuarylife #covidlife #stayhomestaysafe #brisbanekids
14.01.2022 Little Fur dropped his antlers! He’s a teddy bear again now, for a few months at least, and back in the paddock for cuddles . We are open as usual this weekend and next (no appointment required), and still have some bookings available for Monday, Tuesday and Friday next week, as well as the public holiday Monday #albinodeer #lyelldeersanctuary #brisbaneanyday #moretonbayregion

11.01.2022 We are open this weekend! Luckily we are outside so you are not required to wear a mask, but bring one in case we get a bit crowded and you don’t feel you can maintain 1.5m distance, like Luka and Leo clearly can’t . Sign in with the QR code, and use the hand sanitiser! All the usual things . See you soon!
11.01.2022 Be my Valentine ! What better way to spend the day than loving animals #valentinesday #brisbaneanyday #animallovers #lyelldeersanctuary #visitmoretonbayregion #fawn
10.01.2022 We are going camping! (In the backyard, but still, a change is as good as a holiday! ) We will be open again this Friday (Sept 25th), and the following week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday (Sept 28th and 29th, and October 2nd). Let me know if you’d like to book on one of those days, or just pop in as usual on the weekends #visitmoretonbayregion #brisbaneschoolholidays
09.01.2022 Yay!!! Easter is un-cancelled! To celebrate, we will be open for adventurers and animal lovers on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday! Remember to physically distance from other groups, sign in on arrival, and wash your hands. There’s so much to see and do out here in Samford and surrounds! Thanks to Michael Turner Photographer for the gorgeous photo #brisbaneeaster #easter2021 #lyelldeersanctuary #visitmoretonbayregion #visitbrisbane #brisbanekids
09.01.2022 He looks so sweet, curious and innocent, but don’t trust him! He will stab you through the fence ! We will be here for visitors on Thursday if you want to check him out (or cuddle non-violent fawns ). Send a DM, comment or text to make a booking #deerlife #visitmoretonbayregion #brisbanekids #brisbaneschoolholidays
