01.01.2022 School Readiness and Vision. We often hear about 'school readiness' in terms of maturity and developmental readiness to be able to learn. BUT... school readiness also involves vision. Is vision ready to support learning? How much can you learn without vision? Close your eyes at work or school for 10 minutes and find out! A big part of learning involves our vision. Is each eye on? Is the brain using them as a team or does one side phase in and out causing fatigue? How ...do you feel when the TV monitor goes fuzzy.....does it make you feel uncomfortable? Its not very easy to learn when the distraction of fuzzy vision and eyestrain sets in! If there are any concerns with learning......get VISION checked by a behavioural optometrist. It will be well worth your time. Seeing easier, means learning easier. It is such an easy thing to rule out...Let them see the world better!
