24.01.2022 Anyone ever noticed the shape of our walking path around the lake....?
24.01.2022 We are very excited to release our new logo designed by the very talented Emma Pike. It pays tribute to the original LRA logo (mother an baby), but updates it using the stunning rainbow lorikeets which nest in our trees in Banjo Paterson.
24.01.2022 NEW PATH EVANS ROAD After discussions with the Councils Team Leaders, the council has agreed to extend the Sth Gippy end of the new footpath along to a crossing opposite the driveway of 565 Evans Rd. This will allow wheelchairs, prams and pushers to safely cross the slip road to the existing footpath. We are happy to announce that a new gravel path has now been developed across the vacant agistment land. ... Please note this is not a concrete footpath because the alignment will change when the agistment land is developed. LRA

23.01.2022 EVANS ROAD WORKS BLITZ Hi everyone, An update on Evans Road. Big special thanks to Viv, a dedicated LRA member for his persistance in getting this resolved between Melbourne Waters and City of Casey. Another big win for Lynbrook. Thank you Viv! ... This is the long awaited final leg of works so the Evans Rd storm water system can operate at design capacity. (Permit obtained re endangered Native Galaxias fish in the catchment creek that flows under the power lines) (b) Amenity - slashing overgrown vegetation along the redundant open culverts in front of 480S Evans Rd, pending landscaping works.

21.01.2022 Dear residents, We are excited to announce that from August, the City of Casey will be accepting food scraps and garden waste together. This in turn becomes compost for our local park and surroundings! For more info please read the link LRA
21.01.2022 Dear residents, We hope everyone is doing well with the first day of lockdown. Given so, we thought this would be a good opportunity just to give everyone a friendly reminder to please call the EPA and SUEZ if you experience any foul or putrid smell coming from the landfill site. There has been some operational and relocation changes on the site so we just need to make sure that all of the recent changes has not impacted our community. EPA: 1300372842... SUEZ: 1800368737 Stay safe everyone, LRA

19.01.2022 EVANS ROAD OVERPASS REPORT During June and July works on the railway overpass progressed at a steady pace. Approach ramps either side of the span reached their abutments and the concrete deck over the span was poured. While the line was shut down early in July pre-cast side wall sections for the concrete deck were hoisted up and fixed in position. On the west side, posts are being installed to carry wind break panels to shield cyclists/walkers as they cross on the shared pathway. Kerb and channel was completed today in readiness for asphalt. Barring bad weather and any affects from a reduced work force during the lockdown, the overpass should be ready for traffic late September early October.
19.01.2022 Next Tuesday 16th February is Shrove Tuesday. It’s an annual event on the Lynbrook calendar. The last year has thrown things into a spin but we didn’t want to miss out on this feel good event providing we can be Covid safe. So albeit a smaller gathering this year Pancakes in the Park is a go! Hosted by the Lynbrook Residents Association, we invite you to come to the main rotunda in Banjo Paterson Park (end of River Redgum Place) from 6:30pm this Tuesday for a FREE pancake... dinner. Water also provided. Games will be modified this year but we will still have Lynbrook’s Biggest Tosser for both child and adult. At the Lynbrook Residents Association, we care about your health and safety, so we’re following a COVIDSafe Plan. It’s our COVIDSafe promise to you. We ask that you do not attend this event if you display any COVID symptoms at all and our volunteers commit to do the same. QR code registration will be required on arrival. Thanks for playing your part in making us safe.

18.01.2022 Good Morning Lynbrookians. Does anyone in the community have the capacity to digitise this VHS video so we can place it on thr LRA website for all to share. Happy to pay for the service, but prefer to keep it local.
18.01.2022 NEW STATION CAR PARK UPDATE LRA is pleased to announce that a small pocket of mildly contaminated soil found under the new car park has been successfully treated in situ and rendered completely safe. This outcome is far better for our community than excavation and removal which could pose a risk however small of contaminants escaping into the open air. The contractor has built a temporary haul road into the site for the safe working of tip trucks engaged in carting away the s...urplus mound of soil. While the tippers operate, a road cleaning vehicle will patrol up and down to keep our streets free of mud. Traffic controllers will be seen in Paterson Drive to ensure local traffic doesn't tangle with heavy tip trucks and other site vehicles. On current projections LRA understands the 135 new spaces should be ready for use by the end of October. LRA

13.01.2022 OVERPASS SHARED FOOTPATH Yesterday LRA requested additional lighting for a dark section of footpath across the top of the overpass. We also asked for protruding pipes on the footpath to be cut down to pavement level. Today two new lights went in and bollards put in place until the pipes are cut down.... LRA thanks Level Crossing Removal Authority for responding so quickly to our request. We remind residents to keep to the far left when walking across and keep an eye on children. Bikes are flying down without using a warning bell, or lights at night.

11.01.2022 STATION CAR PARK UPDATE Exciting times to come! Asphalt went down earlier in the week, yesterday the fence was removed, speed bumps installed, landscaping began and parking bays set out ready for line marking. Next week should see light poles go in and storm water sediment traps at each end finished. Looks like a close shave as to whether the car park or overpass opens first. The overpass just needs completion of intersection works on the Lyndhurst side and line marking to be... ready for traffic. Red letter day last Tuesday when the overpass footpath opened. Walkers beware of bikes scooting across on the shared path without using their warning bell.

08.01.2022 WETLANDS FIRE BREAKS Since mid last year we've been trying to get Parks Victoria to mow the high grass along Cranbourne Wetlands boundary fences. Earlier in the week fire breaks were cut along Paterson Drive and Banjo Circuit. These fire breaks are also used by maintenance vehicles to keep weeds and blackberries down, and the open ground might help deter snakes from leaving their own patch.

In more normal times this will take many rail user cars off Paterson Drive and its side streets. Last of three election promises secured by LRA for our community, the others being the amber traffic signal warning lights on the Sth Gippy and the new solar lights along the pathways in Banjo Paterson Reserve.
