15.01.2022 It's World Heart day! Take charge of your heart health and book in for a check up. Cardiovascular disease is the No.1 cause of death in the world and everyday 48 Australians lose their lives from heart disease. For better heart health, the Heart Foundation of Australia recommends 150mins of moderate exercise per week. It sounds like a lot, but when spread out over a week it is a smidge over 20mins per day.... To sustain this activity choose things that you enjoy, and do it with a loved one or friend to help pass the time away. Skipping for 10mins has the same benefits as running for 30mins so pull out the skipping rope and have a competition with the family or enjoy the sunshine whilst going for a walk and catching up with a friend at the same time. Regular check ups with your GP for blood tests and BP checks are important for preventing heart disease as well as eating a healthy balanced diet. For more information check out https://www.heartfoundation.org.au/ #worldheartday #worldheart #healthyliving #healthyhearts
