25.01.2022 Safety at Drop Off and Pick Up Dear Parents and Carers Just a gentle reminder, particularly in this wild and inclement weather, that road safety at drop off and pick up times is essential and everyone’s responsibility. Please be careful at the Turner Street and Frederick Street entries/exits and especially careful if you use Madden Lane behind the Baptist Church. Children are not especially good at road safety, particularly the younger ones, and it is our responsibility as ad...ults to ensure their safety. Leigh Bade Principal

24.01.2022 Brainstorm Productions School Incursion Dear Parents and Carers This is a gentle reminder that next Wednesday is the presentation of The H Team by Brainstorm Productions designed to address various aspects of student wellbeing.... It is a live theatre performance that covers such issues as: The importance of a positive mindset Peer pressure Anxiety Bullying Safe use of social media These issues are addressed within a story framework that provides context for the children. The school has heavily subsidised these performances (one for K-2 and one for 3-6), so that the cost per child is only $5.00. Please ensure that your child’s permission note and money is returned to the school by Monday 2nd November. If you have lost the permission note, a handwritten one will be fine and if you don’t like handling cash, payment can be made online through the link on our school webpage. Regards Mrs Leigh Bade Principal

02.01.2022 School Facebook Page Dear Parents and Carers Today we sent home a note detailing our new venture into the world of Facebook, via the introduction of our own school Facebook page!... We would like to take this opportunity to thank our P&C for allowing us to piggyback on their Facebook page for several years now. The need for our own page has come about as a means of providing our community with another way of interacting with the school during these times of distancing as a result of Covid-19 particularly our new kindergarten parents who will be joining us in 2021. The note that went home today provides parents with the opportunity to update their wishes regarding their child’s photo being used on our Facebook site. I want to reassure parents that our safety policy for Facebook is exactly the same as that for our website and our newsletter. We never publish a child’s full name in relation to their photograph or their class. This policy will continue with our Facebook page. Please remember that if you opt out of the Facebook safety policy, you will be opting out of all other communication platforms used by the school. Please take the time to visit our new page and Like us or leave a comment. Our page can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/Lynwood-Park-Public-School-102413818283959 Regards Leigh Bade Principal

01.01.2022 Stage 3 Camp Cancelled It is with great regret that we inform you that we have had to make the very difficult decision to cancel our planned Stage 3 Great Aussie Bush Camp. We know this will be extremely disappointing for both students and parents alike. This decision has been made after consultation with our school Director, as the Department of Education are required to adhere to the current NSW Health order to ensure we minimise the risks associated with COVID-19. The Stag...e 3 staff are already working on plans to offer the students some enjoyable alternative activities. We are hoping that if restrictions ease, we will endeavour to arrange a day trip to allow students to experience some of the activities they would have had during camp. The Stage 3 students were informed yesterday and received a note with information about refunds and other details. The note is also attached here for your information.
