17.01.2022 Recondition of 15 yo arena near Bayles. Old sand stripped off; base repairs; % level falls checked; then layered sands installed with laser machinery to correct falls.

16.01.2022 New arena in flatter country of south west Gippsland. Challenges this year with extremely high rainfall. This one required application of a combination of high grade geo textiles to ensure long term success. An extended swale drain was necessary to keep water from arena area. Photo shows current stage mid construction with fencing & light poles being installed. Note the long swale drain.

15.01.2022 Surface to Yarra Valley arena completed. Only rails needed to finalise fencing. Stable site ready for construction to begin. All drainage organised to protect both sites.

09.01.2022 The process involved in the repair & renovation of large combination indoor/outdoor arena (60m x 40m) not built by Lysterfield Landscapes. The existing failed surface had more than a dozen soft, clay base eruptions. After careful removal and stock pile of top layer of sand, the extent of problems became more obvious with areas of collapse under the weight of the truck. The combination of imported, mixed clays, the choice of base stabilising material & insufficient drainage ca...used major problems to appear in a very short time frame. Professional engineering advice regarding the sub base was sought from GROUND SCIENCE. Sub base samples were drilled out, kiln dried & tested to determine suitable compaction quality. The diagnosis was a water/drainage problem & the sub base was capable of being compacted with with the right works. The drainage/water was one of the major problems. Soft areas were repaired with high grade crushed rock, lime & strategic use of geo textile. A yard structure was removed as it was assessed as directing water underneath the arena & interfering in free drainage. The entire arena was then completely covered in a selected combination geo textile. Then the crushed rock was laser graded & compacted to achieve the desired drainage. The final riding surface products were then laser installed & graded in 2 separate layers to complete the arena, ready for riding! See more

09.01.2022 Further progress on Yarra Valley arena and associated stable/shed complex. Linked split levels, and drainage allow for access between both. Large pine stumps also to be removed.

06.01.2022 Excavation, and preparation for pits, gatic drain, and agi drains around older stable complex suffering stormwater and seepage issues. Outside horse wash area to be installed, then asphalt to complete the project.
