25.01.2022 Yesterday evening some of our beautiful BAYs attended the Bherd event by the @onewomanproject. We debunked myths, talked about the glass ceiling, the sticky floor, the glass elevator and the glass cliff! After leaving the event our BAYs felt assured and confident in their future leadership endeavours. The event was entirely empowering and eye opening and one that sparked a motivated fire inside us all.... We highly recommend attending any event featuring the @onewomanproject so head over to their insta or Facebook to get all the tea! Thanks so much for this opportunity! - A BAY

24.01.2022 Congratulations to all of the hard working, ambitious and wonderfully community-minded young men and women who won leadership awards at last nights Rotary Meeting! Special Congrats to our very own Alfred Bramasta and Harry Wheatley who were acknowledged for their determination, leadership and - most importantly - their positive attitudes and excellent sense of humour. Our 7 BAYS and the 4 other inspiring youth at Rotary last night are just one manifestation of the willingness that our young people have to make valuable contributions to their local communities if given the opportunity!

16.01.2022 Did we mention how amazing Sonya from the Bayside Clean Up Crew was? Well, we're going to mention it again!! Sonya graciously volunteered to take our 40kg of rubbish home and sort it for us - categorising and keeping a count of all the different rubbish types. What. A. Boss. Check out her findings below. Surprisingly, we had well over 1,500 cigarette butts! Far more than our original 400+ count.... Again, wonderful job everyone who participated in our event yesterday! You stopped all of this going into our precious oceans and waterways, undoubtedly improving the environmental conditions for our Bay's marine life. You da bomb! Thank to our Deputy Chair Reyd OLoghlen, we can give you the inside scoop... the story behind the story... At the time of interview, this class of exceptional young people were making Vegan Burgers (#delicious).. but because theyre such responsible citizens wanting to promote this great opportunity for young people... they never even got around to cooking nor eating said Burgers #travesty #withgreatapprenticeships #comesgreatsacrifice

13.01.2022 This is disappointing news. As young people who are intensely passionate about climate change and environmental sustainability, we are given fewer and fewer opportunities to express our concerns. This is yet another example of how young people are being discouraged from and penalised for participating in the political system that we will one day inherit. From shaping - and perhaps even saving - the society that we will one day inherit. ... Political representation and raising the voice of young people in support of causes that will directly affect our quality of life and longevity is important to this Committee. So if you feel unsafe or unable to express yourself through peaceful protest, then please reach out to us and well do whatever we can to support the cause.

01.01.2022 In acknowledgment of RUOK Day, the BAYs at one of our local schools decided to spread some POSITIVITY! Over the weekend, a four hour process of handwriting the positive affirmations and quotes onto the plethora of colourful sticky notes had begun. With each handwritten note, a little bit of love and happiness came with it. RUOK Day is a day where it is reminded that checking up on loved ones and friends is important. With the offical RUOK Day just around the corner on Thursday, we encourage you to ask the simple question ruok? Just by asking that question it shows that you care- and that is what is important! Thanks- one of your BAYs
