20.01.2022 The Empowered Motherhood program is ONE Twelve months ago @kimmysmithfit and I launched our online program just as a global pandemic was kicking off. We had no idea how the program would be received, only that we had poured out blood, sweat and breast milk into creating a no BS program that we knew was what REAL mums really need. We felt vulnerable and nervous at the thought of actually going ‘live’, but given we had already put over two years into filming decided the ...time was now and we needed to crack on Twelve months on, its safe to say I’m bloody glad we did. The feedback that pours through weekly from members is all the validation I need to know that the program is making a HUGE difference to pregnant and postnatal women and it’s all been worth it. Thank you to all the women and health professionals that have joined, supported and helped to spread the word on the Empowered Motherhood Program without you we wouldn’t be here. To celebrate our birthday all 6 and 12 month membership are 20% off this week.Head over to to the EMP website or link through IG for a free 5 day trial and 20% off! #empoweredmotherhoodprogram #pregnancyprogram #postnatalprogram #healthexperts #pelvicfloorphysio #pregnancyexercise #postnatalexercise

Have a watch, a laugh, learn a new PF visual and have a great little pelvic floor workou...t too. Please don’t forget to drop me an a or a when you are done, and tag a friend to share the Easter squeeze love. Happy Easter and happy squeezing. #thesaturdaysqueeze #womenshealthphysio #pelvicfloorexercises #pelvicfloormadefun #lyzevansphysio

10.01.2022 THE BUMP DATE: 32week scan:Mixed news On my 20 week scan my placenta was found to be sitting directly across my cervix so we needed to rescan to see if it had moved. This is called ‘ low lying placenta’ or ‘ placenta previa’( Dx after 28 weeks).... It can be associated with symptoms such a cramping, bleeding, and will require a CS birth if it doesn’t move upwards away from the cervix. I actually had placenta previa in my first pregnancy with lots of vaginal bleeds and cramping all the way through my pregnancy. Lots of scans and stress and life restrictions but at 34 weeks we discovered the placenta had lifted out of the way (as it does in 90% of cases) and I was able to go on to have a vaginal birth. This pregnancy has been quite different in that despite finding the position on ultrasound at 20 weeks I’ve had no symptoms this time. I have been fortunate to be able to carry on as normal with no restrictions (which would change if I started developing any symptoms ) SCAN DAY... No full bladder needed , and both a transabdominal and internal vaginal approach used to get a good look at the placenta and babies growth. First up. Heart beat. Always incredible to hear. Next up my placenta:Woo hoo, it has moved!! Still low but has moved to 3cm away from my cervix. Next : growth measurements where head, abdominal, femur length and a few other measurements are taken to work out of if bub is tracking ‘normal’ for growth. After the measurements were taken I wasn’t expecting to find out that bub is arather small - on the 6th centile for overall growth. Anything less than 10th centile is called ‘small for gestational age’ and needs to be closely monitored to ensure fetal growth is not compromised. On all previous scans there has been good placental blood flow, amniotic fluid and a VERY active bub so to other than size there are no real signs of ‘fetal compromise’ so I feel ok. But Im now on instructions to rest as much as possible and will have regular scans to check growth. The pregnancy roller coaster continues! Perfect timing as have a family holiday to Noosa booked. Time to step up hubby! Images: 1. Bubbas gorgeous little lips and nose against uterus wall 2. Babies face really taking shape. Can imagine what he/ she is going to look like 3. Ultrasound image ( not mine) showing when the placenta is sitting across the cervix. Mine was like this but has now moved upwards. 4. Diagram showing when the placenta is low lying or in the previa position to help you understand why a vaginal birth would be dangerous and a cs is the safest birth option. #thebumpdate #32weekscan #placentaprevia #lowlyingplacenta #smallgestationalage #lyzevansphysio
