24.01.2022 Lash extensions and water: what you should know! A vital part in lash aftercare is avoiding water for the 24hrs following your appointment. But why? Lash glue dries and cures with the help of moisture (humidity). Over a period of time, the glue slowly uses the moisture from the air to set. While glues are generally fast drying (i.e the outside dries), they still need time to properly cure all the way through and bond to your natural lash. Accesive moisture means this proc...ess happens far to quickly, known as a flash cure. The bond from this is weak and extensions generally don't last. The outside of the glue may be dried when you walk of of the salon, but it isn't cured yet and you need to give it the time it needs to do so without interrupting the process. The key thing to take away from this? keep those fresh lashes dry!

06.01.2022 Why I do not infill on other tech's work In short, I will not infill on another techs work because I do not know the standards that tech works to, or the products they use. There are some fantastic lash techs out there, but unfortunately there's also a lot of places that dont work with your best interests in mind. ... Refusing to infill others work is not something lash techs do to keep clients loyal or pay for full sets-it comes from a place of wanting to ensure that what you walk out with is 100% the best on offer For the most part, I could blend my products quite well with whatever the previous tech has used, but what I cannot (and will not) blend in is neglectful work. By only infilling on my own work I know exactly what's been used and that the quality of work is high (not to toot my own horn). If you have current lashes from another tech and wish to book with me, I ask that you book for a full set, and removal of the old set will be included in the price :)

11.11.2021 "I just don't think I can lay still for that long!" Let's address this little statement I've had people compliment my work and gush about how they'd love to try lash extensions .... then follow it with a "but I just don't think I'd be able to lay there for 2 hours". ... So here's a few tips to help you relax and have you wishing the appointment went for longer! 1. Get comfortable! Adjust the pillows and blankets however you need to be nice and cozy 2. No caffeine! This goes without too much explanation but it's best to save the coffee for after your appointment for maximum relaxation 3. Bring some tunes! Either a podcast or your favourite play list, heck even listen to a favourite movie if you'd like (but no peaking!) 4. Consider your schedule. Try not to book when you have other commitments straight after. You want to enjoy your pamper time without worrying about being late for anything. 5. Put your phone on silent! Phones tend to blow up at the very moment we can't check them. Let your significant other/BFF/ other important people know you won't have your phone for a bit then turn it off or on silent. This keeps a serene environment so you can mellow out. You'd be surprised by how quickly the appointment goes. I'll always have music playing and you're welcome to bring earphones or ask to put your fav play list on the speakers! The majority of my clients fall asleep, and for most people their lash appointments give them some well deserved relaxation time where you can just shut off for a little while (a rare opportunity for those busy bodies). Finally, be sure to let me know if there's anything I can do to help make you more comfortable! 07.11.2021 A light hybrid set to kick off the weekend What exactly does this mean? Hybrids are traditionally a 50/50 split between classic and volume lashes. This gives clients those thicker lashes without going too glam.... For this set though, the split was closer to 80/20, the result is something much more on the natural side whilst still giving the lashes a bit of depth

20.10.2021 Let's talk working out with lash extensions. I am all for bringing a bit of glam to the gym, and keeping fit and healthy is more important than ever.... but let's not forget to keep those lashes happy as well! Sweat contains salt which may break down the glue bond on your lashes. It's best to avoid the gym (or more specifically, sweating) for 24 hours after your appointment while the glue cures... When you do get your sweat on, try using a headband to help control anything running onto your lashes and pat down moisture regularly with a towel. If you want to go that extra mile and spoil your lashes, extention-safe sealants and serums are a great option as well to ensure the longevity of your extensions (feel free to message me about these!)
