25.01.2022 And time for some 'Preventative Maintenance' (PM's) this week on some Cisco equipment. Pop the bonnets and blow out the dust, and clean the chassis fans. Never a bad idea to keep your IT gear clean and healthy on the inside as well. MA RITCHIE IT Pty Ltd [email protected] 07 3865-7750
25.01.2022 Installed a new NBN connection for a business mid-week. Had to run a new Cat6 data connection from the MDF cupboard over to the server room and the comms cabinet, then test and certify. Connected the new service and all came up with good connection speeds. Call for a free, no obligation quotation to install your new NBN. 25.01.2022 This Cisco wireless network installation had to be 'black' in colour to fit in with all of the other light fittings and design aesthetics. No problem for the Cisco wireless access-points and these covers come in a whole range of colours. And no effect on your Cisco hardware maintenance contact. Handy for conference rooms, public spaces, shopping malls, etc. MA RITCHIE IT Pty Ltd [email protected] 1300 772-065

21.01.2022 Installed a couple of wireless access-points for a client this week. Their new NBN connection was at one end of the house and the home office was at the other end and had just about no usable wireless signal. A common complaint in many house-holds. We installed two data outlets in the ceiling and mounted the two access-points on the ceiling at each end of the house. Problem solved... 21.01.2022 Installed some new cable management panels and re-dressed this comms cabinet. These cable management panels send the patch cables into the unused space behind the patch panels and keep the front and sides of the cabinet very clean and tidy. Happy with the result. Call us today for a free onsite consutation and audit of your data network. MA RITCHIE IT Pty Ltd [email protected] 07 37865-7750
20.01.2022 Had an interesting challenge last week installing a new data cable up through a cavity wall. In the end we drilled out the top plate and then lowered a builders line with little nut tied to the end, and then carefully located it through the other hole using the endoscope fitted with a little magnet. Once the magnet hooked the nut we pulled through the line and then the new data cable. Challenging, but always a way.... MA RITCHIE IT Pty Ltd - 07 3865 7750 [email protected]
20.01.2022 Zoom says free users wont get end-to-end encryption so FBI and police can access calls, while Businesses, schools, and other paying customers will get it. Video calling company Zoom confirmed this week that it wont enable end-to-end encryption for free calls in part because it wants to give law enforcement access to these calls if necessary. We think this feature should be a part of our offering for professional customers, said Zoom CEO Eric Yuan in a meeting with investors Tuesday. Free users for sure we dont want to give [them] that, because we also want to work together with the FBI, with local law enforcement, in case some people use Zoom for a bad purpose. 19.01.2022 Samsung 'Frame' TV installations yesterday for a client. These Frame TVs from Samsung have a seperate 'control box' which need to be mounted somewhere. The main bedroom TV had the control box installed into one of the cupboards and the other two TVs had the control box installed down low in the low-line unit (sitting beneath the TVs). Also had to run new data cabling to each TV. Was a hot day in the ceiling, but all installed and up and running ready for the client to move in this weekend. 19.01.2022 Had to do a 'stealth' install for a clients new home office. Mounted the monitors on wall-mount pivot brackets and then ran the cables down behind inside the wall cavity. Then installed some slotted duct under the desk and new power and data outlets just below. The result was a very clean installation for the client and ticked all the boxes. 18.01.2022 SCAM ALERT - Dont buy fake $350 anti-5G USB stick !!! Its just 128MB of nothing. Scammers are trying to sell a $350 USB key with just 128MB of storage as an anti-5G solution. The 5GBioShield went on sale recently in the UK priced between 280 and 330 ($343 and $405), and promises to use quantum holographic catalyzer technology to protect a family home against 5G. Unsurprisingly, the USB key is fake, and its actually a regular $6 USB stick that only has 128MB of storage. That hasnt stopped conspiracy theorists from promoting it, however. 09.01.2022 We sometimes find that network equipment has to be installed into some not so clean and dust-free environments.
