15.01.2022 Every Saturday, volunteers of Maa Sarada's Kitchen serve IDLI SAMBAR. Idli Sambar is a traditional South Indian breakfast, snack or evening meal. Idli is made of fermented rice and black gram batter and steamed in molds. Sambar is a vegetable curry with lentil base. This combination is not only healthy, but one of the most tasty vegan and gluten free foods available. It is also suitable for those who do not take onion and garlic.... Try a plate of Idli Sambar ($4) cooked the traditional way every Saturday 10am to 1pm.

15.01.2022 We're in for a treat this Saturday! In addition to our standard menu with all your favourites like Dosa, Idli Sambar, Poori & Vada, this week one of our volunteers will make her very special Papri Chaat. Paapri Chaat consists of crunchy, tangy, hot and sweet flavours. Also known as Papdi chaat, it is a popular fast food served in northern India. Paapri refers to the wafers, and the word chaat is used for several snacks and fast food meals. In Hindi, chaat means "to lick." So it's understandable why this is a finger-licking-good dish!

08.01.2022 Every Saturday, Maa Sarada's Kitchen at the Vedanta Centre serves piping hot Poori Masala. This is a deep fried Indian flat bread served with mildly spiced potato curry and pickle. A delicious combination that is very enjoyable as a snack or light meal. Try a plate of Poori ($5) cooked the traditional way every Saturday 10am to 1pm.

08.01.2022 "Podi" means 'Powder'. Podi is a coarse spice powder, originating from the Indian subcontinent. The spice mix is commonly referred to in informal speech as "gunpowder" or chutney powder. Our homemade Podi is made fresh at the Ashram and contains roasted dal, jaggery, salt, tumeric, cumin, peanuts, salt, coconut & chilli.... Come and try "Podi Dosa" this Saturday at the Cafe

05.01.2022 DOSA COMBO is the perfect choice for those who love the satisfying combination of dosa-idli-vada. Newbies to South Indian food will also enjoy trying some of everything in the combo plate. The Dosa Combo is served with your choice of either Plain Dosa or Masala Dosa, one idli and one vada of choice (Masala Vada or Medhu Vada).
