Apple has dropped 32bit application support completely. Say goodbye to every app and utility that has not been updated in the past two years, Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 - gone, even Office 365 32bit installations - gone. Older Adobe Creative Suites - gone (except CC subscription) although many plug-ins and filters ...will not work post install. iPhoto - gone, iTunes - gone. For DJ's using Traktor or Rekordbox - gone. The A1278 13" model ran from 2008 to 2012, but was still being manufactured in the same 2012 specification until around 2016. From a repairers point of view these machines were a dream compared to today's nightmare models that have been given an awful score of 1 out of 10 for repairability by independant right for repair group iFixit. These earlier models could have memory upgrades, hard drive upgrades, ea...sy to replace batteries, trackpads and optical drives, but with more difficulty it was also possible to replace the keyboard and LCD assemblies as well.
