25.01.2022 Spring has sprung in my garden, what a lovely insect eating flowers on the grass tree spear.
23.01.2022 My grandfather was a stonemason and also a bookkeeper. This is in the days when books were kept rather than on a spreadsheet etc as they are now. He had the most immaculate handwriting- his stonemasonry was of the same calibre- learnt at school when it was an important part of the school curriculum. Not now of course. He left school at an early age. He would put my mums name and address in all her school books. Here's an example

20.01.2022 Sorry I haven't posted lately but I'm sure you'll enjoy this little snapshot of our most recent 'OB' in Cook Park Orange, a beautiful precinct, full of ancient trees like the Giant Sequoia, Redwoods, Bunya Pines and my favourite, the Ginkgo Biloba or Maidenhair tree, If you ever travel through Orange, stop and have a cuppa in Cook Park. The main reason we went to Cook Park is that my old boss David Hill rang and asked us to go. He told me that the 'old Fairbridgians', that... is young British children who were sent out to Australia from 1938 onwards were going to open a Memorial Park at Molong. I found it hard to refuse a request from the boss, so there we were. We had a wonderful morning and if you have never been to an Outside Broadcast, this is a snapshot. Lets hope it's not too long before we can all meet again on the road somewhere.Thankyou for your letters, cards and emails, much appreciated. See more
16.01.2022 Guess who turned up this morning John Williamson celebrating 50 years on the road, singer of iconic songs like True Blue. You've probably seen him on the road during those 50 years and he's still at it and he will continue in the new year once Covid has passed, hopefully. We talked about all sorts of things he played a song, and I showed him my MAKE AUSTRALIA MAKE AGAIN hat, made by Pam Cupper of Dimboola VIC. Pam was frustrated that you can't get baseball caps or many things made in Australia. There is a discussion of this on the podcast. Hoping to get back on the road ASAP. Write a letter, send a card and share a smile Macca.

07.01.2022 Maybe because I love budgies I think these are fantastic. More people should get involved in art, wouldn't it be great to stand back and look at something you have created. Kelly's mosaics. You can listen to the interview on today's podcast. Meanwhile enjoy! Thanks Kelly for the lovely photos

03.01.2022 Cook Park Orange was jumping on the 15th March apart from the wonderful crowd of people from all over. The O'Donnells came along to liven up proceedings and it went like this. Keep your cards and letters coming, enjoying your company on Sunday morning.
01.01.2022 This weekend I'm off to Condobolin for our last program of the year, a Christmas celebration if you like drawing a line under what was a pretty ordinary year and looking forward to better things to come. As you can see from the attached poster we are doing a dance on the Saturday night at the local Anglican Hall where the CWA will be providing supper. The weekend is just our little contribution here at the program to spread a little Christmas cheer. Come along and say g'day to Australia. Merry Christmas Macca & Kel
