02.02.2022 For the first time since Xmas I’ve been that inundated with calls and messages for this weekend I’ve had to blast the cobwebs off old Bertha, my original spit. While she doesn’t look the goods she still spins and cooks just as well as the newer stainless models!

18.01.2022 Well after a very busy few months I’ve finally settled back down...until vintage fully kicks off! Plenty of stock of cherry wood and wine soaked oak. I have 3 bags of peach chunks ($30) and a couple of bags of apple chunks ($20) to go. All a very generous 5kg bags. Plenty of spit hire availability over the coming months but starting to book up.

17.01.2022 If you like a good sauce on your bbq, go see Mike at the Good Sauce Co! I love my bbq sauce and got a couple off him. The chipotle plum is to die for! Just that little bit of spice that pairs magnificently with the sweetness of the plum. Try some for yourself!

12.01.2022 My family and I are volunteer scout camp wardens for a beautiful spot up the river so I bought myself one of these little weber go anywhere BBQ’s. Perfect so I don’t have to bother with the gas bbq up here! I did have a giggle about how small it was when I unboxed it though

12.01.2022 Special end of vintage special! Buy a bag of cherry wood for $30 and get a bag of wine soaked oak for only $10! That’s half price on the oak!

12.01.2022 A new addition to the fleet here at Macca’s spit hire! A Heatlie hooded gas roaster! It may be gas, but it’s still a bbq! Drop a few bits of cherry or oak smoking wood above the burner and it will taste just as good! A huge cooking area will get those roasts done to perfection without the mess of charcoal. The legs come off so it will fit most cars. Don’t like gas? Never fear! The charcoal Santa Maria hooded grill is near the end of production!... $80 hire for a weekend or $100 with gas, and you all know how chilled I am at how long a weekend is!

09.01.2022 Wow! I’ve seen other smoking wood suppliers selling their wine soaked oak for a small fortune! It’s seems $20 for 5kg is a bargain and I can ship 10kg worth anywhere in Australia for only $10!

09.01.2022 Hi all! I know we all love to bbq but for everyone’s sake today please don’t even think about firing up the charcoal! It’s a catastrophic fireban and as a Cfs volunteer (who’s about to go on active standby all day at the station) id like to have a fire free day! We’ve just lost two firefighter brothers in nsw, don’t put more of our lives at risk please! Stay cool and stay safe! And put some water out for our native animals.

09.01.2022 I’ve got way too much wine soaked oak so I’m having a Xmas flash sale! Normally $20 for a 5kg bag I’m taking 25% off for a week. That’s only $15 for a bag! I’ve been asked to help out at the scout jamboree but it’s going to cost a fair bit of money so all proceeds of this sale will be going towards helping me get there. ... I’m also heading into adelaide tommorow morning and will gladly bring some down and drop off around adelaide and around the trip from gawler.

08.01.2022 Small pile of cherry I collected on the weekend. $3 per kilo as is or can split for $4 a kilo. Some great bits for wood turning too if your into that!

05.01.2022 Up at a big Joey scout camp cooking for 150 kids, parent and leaders! 30kg of lamb roasts and 30kg of chicken. Meat was a hit with lots of clean camp plates!

03.01.2022 With all this uncertainty at the moment I fully understand that any future bookings will not go ahead until this all blows over as a spit with 2 people will be pretty boring! I still have plenty of cherry wood and wine soaked oak to go around for all those smoking and cooking while stuck at home. I’m happy to do PayPal and leave it on the doorstep for a no contact sale too. Hope everyone stays healthy during the coming weeks, maybe months but fingers crossed it won’t be that long!

Getting some more funds in my daughters piggy bank to send them on the mini scout jamboree in January 2022 (the proper jamboree in Victoria was cancelledthanks covid!) Still have plenty of cherry splits for $20 per 5kg bag and wine soaked oak for $15 a bag.

Don’t send that ceo on another holiday, my daughters would prefer life adventures in scouts which is what I put all the profits towards!

19.11.2021 Thought I’d try something different and tagged up with wifey trying sell her awesome resin artwork and off we headed to try out luck at the local lions Sunday market. She sold a few items but I had no luck! So to clear some space in my shed I’ll do a special offer of a 5kg bag each of cherry splits and wine soaked oak for $30 (normally $20 each).

04.11.2021 I’m selling my heatlie gas roaster. Perfect for roasting on those fireban days or doing a big cook up for the family. I’m asking $600 ono. These are well over $2000 new and although this is an older model it’s in really good condition.

28.10.2021 Once again, time to cook for combined Joey and Cub Scout camp. 200 hungry mouths to feed after a full on day of fun and water activities! 40kg of lamb roasts and 40kg of chicken!
