15.01.2022 Book Week is fast approaching and there are many books out there looking for a good home. The Hub is a great home and Mrs Beck would love to take care of these books and make them available to read for all of our beautiful students. We would love for you to adopt a book so it can make it’s home on the shelves of our library, giving it a life of purpose as it is read and shared by countless MACC students. Restrictions due to COVID-19 have made it necessary to make change...s to our annual Book Fair which is a major fundraiser for the library. We appreciate your support, knowing that new resources benefit all of our students. For every book adopted, a lovely bookplate with the adopted family’s name will be placed in the front cover. From Monday, October 12, a list of adoptable books will be available on the QKR app. If you would also like to give a book a good home, you can adopt one too! On Friday 23rd October all students are invited to come to school dressed as a character using the Book Week theme of Curious Creatures and Wild Minds for inspiration. 09.01.2022 New Ipads! At the end of last term we took delivery of a trolley full of new IPads with Keyboard devices to be used primarily by our Stage 1 students. These new Ipads add to our existing bank of Ipads in each classroom and we are so thankful to be able to continue to add to our technology resources to assist our students to learn. They watched the livestream of the KOALA Awards Day (KOALA stands for Kids Own Australian Literature Awards) while eating yummy party food and then played games for a while afterwards. 06.01.2022 PIRATE SHIP! This week Mount Annan Christian College hosted Mr Peter Sidgreaves MP to officially launch our famous MACC Pirate Ship. The Community Building Partnership Grants Program contributed $25,000 towards the project and we were pleased to have Mr Sidgreaves MP at the College. The project has been a great success in terms of working with local contractors, our local Member of Parliament, our Headmaster Mr Korocz and the College. Also required will be some landscaping and building maintenance. A formal trade qualification would be an advantage. 02.01.2022 VR Incursion with Sammat Education! Stage 2 haven't been able to go an excursion this year, but we have been able to have the excursion come to us! Lesly from Sammat Education came on Tuesday with a class set of Oculus goggles and Stage 2 got to swim with Turtles in Virtual Reality World. The incursions will be occurring each week and Lesley will be teaching the students to use Virtual reality. You can see by the faces of Year 4 how much fun it was.
