20.01.2022 On Monday, we will go to work. We will wipe noses and bottoms. Dry tears and give hugs. Be sneezed on, coughed on and have snot wiped on our clothes. We will sing songs, do silly dances, read stories and cradle children to sleep. We will do everything we usually do to keep the children safe, happy and give them a sense of normality. We will not get offered a free coffee from Red door, or Pizza from ida red. We wont have a dedicated slot at supermarkets to get food for our ...families. We will go home at the end of our shift, with glitter in our hair, paint all over our uniform and cook using what we can find in the bottom of our freezer or back of our cupboard, like many others. On Monday, we will go to work to care for the children of frontline staff and other workers vital in fighting COVID-19. We are proud, we are strong, we will do what we have to do and I couldnt ask for a better team to have by my side.

19.01.2022 Today in the Kinder room, the children were introduced to a natural arts and crafts area. Natural materials have many sensory benefits. They have different textures, sizes, colours and smells. They provide more tactile stimulation to children to help them improve their hand/finger awareness and coordination. The children were encouraged to use a wide range of natural open ended materials to create their own unique masterpieces. Www.macedonelc.com.au

19.01.2022 Today we celebrated international picnic day at Macedon early learning. International Picnic day is a day in which we gather together to eat and enjoy one anothers company. At Macedon early learning we enjoyed a centre afternoon tea picnic outdoors along with arts and crafts and role play engagement within our indoor picnic environment. We had lots of fun creating memorable moments with all of our friends.

15.01.2022 This month at Macedon early learning we were missing our loved ones a little bit more than usual and not being able to see them has been extra hard. Today we made up some special care packages for our grandparents, cousins and loved ones that we are unable to see due to restrictions. In each envelope we included a special letter and a masterpiece of a drawing. Once we had packed this all into the envelope we sealed it with a big kiss and a special stamp. We then travelled to the local post office with our families to post off our special parcel we cannot wait for our loved ones to receive their special delivery

07.01.2022 Today at Macedon early learning we celebrated ‘R U OKAY? DAY’. R U OK? Day is a national day of action on the second Thursday of September each year, dedicated to reminding people to regularly check in with family, friends and colleagues. The question was asked to the children If you saw one of your friends upset and feeling a little bit sad, what could you do to make them feel a little bit better?, the children answered this with giving cuddles, kisses and asking them to play with me. For afternoon today we enjoyed making and decorating special yellow cupcakes with our cook Denise followed by enjoying these together during our afternoon tea picnic.

07.01.2022 Animals can be great fun, but it's important to know how to be safe when you're with them. Both indoor animals and outdoor animals need to be treated kindly all the time. This means different things depending on the animal and the situation. This month in the Kinder room we have begun to learn about animal safety and the steps we need to take before engaging with a dog that we are not familiar with; 1 Ask the owner if it is okay to pat their dog ... 2 Let the dog sniff the back of your hand 3 When the dog is comfortable with you, Pat the dog on the back of the neck or back. This month we had a few special visitors attend Macedon early learning; we had a German short haired pointer named Roy and a Blue Staffordshire bull terrier named Chase, the children were very calm with the animals and were able to demonstrate their learning through the interactions that they shared with both animals. Mud day is a day where we celebrate the beauty of mud and cover one another in it to show that regardless of age, race or religion, covered in mud, we all look the same! We all had so much fun playing and covering one another in mud, all while learning a very important message.
