04.01.2022 It is with great sadness and disappointment, particularly since teams were developing well, fixtures had just been released and we were only days away from competition, that we are faced with the news of another Stage 3 lockdown. Whilst it’s dissapointing our members health and safety has always been our priority and we will continue our progress as soon as permitted by Authorities. We would like to say Thank... You to: a) Players and members on how you have conducted yourselves so far this season. The club wouldn’t be in the position it is, without you following the protocols and demonstrating patience and understanding. b) Our coaches and team managers for all the time and contributions you have made to ensure our players were ready for competition. c) #footballvictoria for working to provide us with a competition season and negotiating with various parties to have the season extended in such a short time. d) #manninghamcitycouncil for working with us to ensure that venue and facilities were available for the "return to training/play" period. The club will continue to communicate with all our members via TeamApp and Social Media to keep you informed and updated from Football Victoria on all progress about "when and how" we return to training/play. Football Victoria current update release is attached, and here is an excerpt: "FV will work through this latest announcement in detail - and in consultation with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) - and, in collaboration with our community, will provide further updates as more information becomes available. We thank our stakeholders for their patience and understanding as we work through the implications of this announcement and consider our options for the season over the coming days". The Football department will work with the coaches within the current restrictions to stay as engaged as possible with the squads as we feel the team dynamic has already been established. We need to maintain this so we can "hit the ground running" upon our return.
