23.01.2022 Club Statement - Resumption of Training Macedon Cats Senior FNC is delighted to hear the news that both Football and Netball can resume training soon, under strict criteria and protocols, which have been developed by the respective Victorian AFL and Netball peak industry bodies in conjunction with the Victorian Department of Health. The Club has also been in touch with the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, who have also confirmed start dates but also a number of clear mandates fo...r use of the facilities. We are aware of the enthusiasm that many players have shown in following the Club developed training programs whilst we have been in effective lock down. Naturally many people are asking - when can we play? And when can we train? The Committee approach is to take one step at a time. It is not expecting to learn when playing may occur and under what conditions for some time. Therefore the focus is solely on training now. With respect to a return to training, the committee has only just received details of the criteria and protocols that must be met prior to training commencing and is working hard to absorb the implications of the criteria that have been dictated. The Committee must be sure that the Club is fully compliant with the framework before training can commence thereby ensuring the safety of our players, the coaches and the community in which we live. It’s natural that we all want to get out and play with our fellow team mates. It is also natural for some members to potentially have some anxiety about a return to training from an individual, family or community perspective. It is for this reason that the committee will wish to ensure that all protocols are in place prior to giving the go ahead, which we want to ensure is as soon as possible. Please respect a degree of committee caution as we ensure everything is put in place correctly. To this end, the Club executive are intending to hold a planning meeting with the coaches and the proposed Club COVID officer, hopefully tomorrow (Thursday). Best wishes Andrew Dick President, Macedon FNC 20th May 2020

19.01.2022 Message to Club Footballers and Netballers Today provided some welcome relief to everyone who is keen to get back to some coordinated training and exercising. The Victorian Government are intending that some of the restrictions will be lifted enabling 10 people to train from Tuesday 11.59pm.... The terms of this announcement can be found on the following link: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/gradual-easing-restrictions-cov Then go to the sports section In this section the broad principles of training are listed. Prior to organised Macedon Cats Senior Football and Netball training can commence there are a couple of separate items that need to be followed up: With respect to Netball, it appears that the Club needs to confirm with the Council the availability of sites for training (they are currently closed) With respect to Football, the Club has received an email from Riddell District Football Netball League, advising that no club sanctioned training is to occur until AFL Victoria advises how this can occur. This notification will hopefully arise tomorrow. Looking forward to sharing further news tomorrow. Andrew Dick President Macedon FNC

13.01.2022 Cattslotto 2 I'm starting up another Cattslotto fundraiser. There has been a few enquiries so I hope to get another 45 people.... Each week you pay $10 for a Tattslotto number-the same number each week. You need to commit for 20 weeks. If your number comes up you WIN $225. You have a one in 45 chance of winning! Great odds! It will be the first number out on the Saturday night draw. We need 45 people to start. The easiest way to pay is to set up a direct debit for $10 each week into bsb-633 000 acct 137325288 or you can pay in full .You will need to put a reference Tatts 2 and your surname. This has to be in the Macedon Cats account by 4pm on the Friday before the draw. Every Friday the account will be checked - if your money isn't there and your number comes out you won't receive the prize it will jackpot to the next week. Please text me if you want to try and win some money. My number is 0437584675. Numbers 1,7 & 32 have gone so get in early to pick your number. The winner will be put on Facebook and I will also contact you. When I get it all sorted I will let you know what date our first draw will be. This is NOT just for players so please ask your family and friends to join in to have a chance to win. You only have to win once to get your money back. Thanks Jo Gooch

09.01.2022 RESUMPTION OF TRAINING Further to our post on Wednesday and following a planning meeting involving the Club Exec. Team, Senior Coaches and Club COVID officer, I wish to confirm that the Committee has confirmed the protocols and structure are in place for training to commence next week. We are pleased to announce that, former President and current Club welfare officer, Dom Andreacchio, has agreed to take on the role as Club COVID officer covering both football and netball. Do...m, along with the coaches, will have close supervision of the implementation of the protocols approved by the AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria in conjunction with the Victorian Department of Health. Under the agreement of the committee, all coaches will complete the online COVID training to maximise the leadership knowledge of protocols. The respective coaches will be in touch with the players to detail the training plan, rosters, criteria and requirements for training. Congratulations to all players and coaches for their effort to date and we look forward to the players enjoying the training. The Committee and Coaches want to confirm that taking part in training is voluntary. If any player has concerns about training, for their own personal reasons, there is no compulsion to train at all. That decision will be completely respected and is also understood. It is anticipated that the football training will be available initially 7 days next week with additional sessions held in Melbourne. Netball is expected to train approx. 3 or more times. The detail as to how this will operate under the restrictions of maximum of 10 at any one time, will be communicated to the players directly. This is terrific news and we wish everyone well in the next few weeks. Have a great weekend Andrew Dick Club President
